Dr. Ari Israel Tuckman, PhD

He charged me a lot of money. He spoke about his books and he did not talk at all about me being ADD. He may be a good author but he is a terrible diagnostician and did not care why I was there

I had such a good experience with Dr. Tuckman. I had suffered with adhd for as long as I could remember but it wasn’t until college, when I really started struggling, that I sought out help. I was failing my organic chemistry course despite the many hours and time I was putting forth. On top of failing that course, in other courses I wasn’t finishing exams on time, which caused those grades to drop; I would sit down and study for hours but every few minutes I was distracted, resulting in unpreparedness, and subsequent lower grades. I would get distracted in the lecture halls when I took my exams by all of the people getting up and moving around which contributed both to the timing issue as well as the grade issue because this pulled me away from my focus on the question in front of me. Needless to say, Dr. Tuckman helped me to pursue my dreams because he felt strongly after his evaluation, that I would perform to the best of my ability if I was being set up for success-in a room with… reduced distractions and a bit more time to take my exams. I was granted test accommodations during college because of Dr. Tuckman’s recommendations and thank goodness because I ended up failing organic chem and having to retake it. However, this time around I had accommodations, and my first exam I scored 30 points higher than the one I took the previous semester without having been evaluated yet. Going forward, my grade improved dramatically and when I graduated college, I applied to vet school and was accepted. Without going to see Dr. Tuckman, I dont think I would have maintained the grades to even be given a chance. My dream my whole life was to become a vet and truly, I couldn’t have done it without Dr. Tuckman. He gave me the chance to pursue my dreams and he helped me to see that I am fully capable with just a little extra help, and that is absolutely okay. Highly recommend him, he was kind, and very intelligent.

My teen son saw Ari twice, initiating the therapy himself the second time, which lasted a year. He loved Ari, who he found to be very down-to-earth and easy to talk to. My son especially liked the way Ari didn't sugar coat his situation and told me that he completely trusted what Ari told him. A year later and my son has never been happier or more at peace. His issue will never go away, but Ari has given his the ability to deal with it well. We highly recommend him.
