Dr. Ariel Lev Barkan, MD

Dr Barkan is an arrogant SOB. He does not listen tot he patient. He only hears and wants answers to his questions but cuts you off when you have questions to ask. My chart was left open when he left the room, there was paperwork I completed that he never touched and was still on the counter when he left. I have pictures to prove it and will be following appropriate protocol for the HIPPA violation. He didn’t even look at the trend of my lab results which would have clearly shown him the reason for concern and referral to him. Unfortunately my old endo who was the best of the best retired. I fear never finding another who has the ability to listen rather than just run patients through and collect a paycheck. Dr Barkan with me a short period of time and told me we were done because he has another patient waiting!!!

I have always found dr Barkin to be friendly and he has always answered all of my questions. Before and after my pituitary surgery.

Does U of M care that there are so many complaints about this man? Don't they have an ethical responsibility to protect patients? Why isn't he investigated?

Arrogant physician. He has no intentions of discovering the reason for your poor health. He truly doesn't care. I called the office directly and complained. I wasn't the first patient to express dissatisfaction.

I went to him because he was supposed to be knowledgeable in pituitary . I already had a diagnosis but he told me the radiologist who read my MRI, the previous endocrinologist, my eye doctors were all wrong. I left his office in tears . He is by far the worst doctor I have ever seen. I would not ever recommend anyone to him EVER.Avoid at all cost . He got a one star because I could not go any lower
