Dr. Ariel De Llanos, MD

He wouldn’t agree to see my son unless my son gave up his music. Music was my sons lifeline. But Ariel’s attitude was it’s my way or the highway.

Back in 2010 I was experiencing difficult mental health challenges. I had already seen four different psychiatrists in less than 8 months and could not find one that I felt I could trust, cared or would listen to what I wanted for myself. I then met Dr. De Llanos. I immediately knew he would become my doctor. With a strong background in pharmacology Dr. De Llanos helped me begin my journey back to mental health wellness. He helped me with minimal amount of medications and worked to tweak them to the most therapeutic level with the least amount of side effects. What struck me most was his desire to work with me, listen and make recommendations for better overall health and the importance of sleep hygiene, something that I was severely lacking. For the past 10 years I have met every 3 months with Dr. De Llanos and have developed so much respect for this physician as a doctor and compassionate human being. I experienced a crisis this past year after losing a near full term baby. He… personally spoke with me over the phone and gave me as much time and space to share my grief as we discussed how to best grieve while maintaining my mental health wellness. I have referred many individuals to Dr. De Llanos over the years and all have had a positive experience. As with any business office there have been challenges from time to time with his staff, however, he always worked to ensure a responsive staff making any necessary changes. Today, with many efforts, his office, processes and appointments run very smoothly. Thank you Dr. De Llanos for your contributions to our mental health community and investing your time and expertise in my mental health and personal wellness. I am grateful for you.

By far the worst experience I had with a doctor and his staff. The receptionist act as if they are doing you a favor for doing their job. I dealt with Marisol and very disrespectful. I have TRICARE and have made a complaint against this clinic. Don’t waste your time bringing your dependents to this clinic. You will be just a number.

I went here for my own medical needs back in 2014, primarily because they took my Obamacare insurance plan, were accepting new patients, and could get in me in for a first appointment relatively quickly. I had a good rapport with the PA I saw at that time, but after a few visits with him he left, and I was assigned to a different PA. After seeing her a few times and watching her dash out the room to talk to the doc when I asked a question she couldn't answer, it gradually dawned on me that I would never see the actual doctor, only a series of PAs. I left the practice not long after for a real psychiatrist who I actually sit down with for 30 minutes and converse with face to face, even during routine med checks. Fast forward a few years and my husband is now a patient at this practice, for similar reasons I was (they could get him in quickly and took his insurance). He too has never seen the actual doctor, only a PA. Our biggest complaint, though, is that this office doesn't… reliably return phone calls. A few weeks ago my husband was going through a more severe depressive episode than usual along with some other symptoms requiring urgent attention, and we called and called requesting an emergency med adjustment but could not get anyone to call us back. What kind of psychiatric practice does that? While the situation was not such an emergency that we needed to go to the ER, it was serious enough that it needed attention right away from a specialist to keep it from getting to the point of being life-threatening. That's why you become a paying client at a psych practice--to have access to specialists so that you don't have to go to the hospital for urgent psych care. This is an absolutely unacceptable level of neglect. We are not only looking to switch practices but also considering most effective routes of making public our concerns with this doc/practice. In short, do yourself a favor and find a psychiatrist that will actually consult with you in person and whose office returns your calls in a timely manner--you deserve it. Dealing with mental illness is a hard enough road to hoe without having to navigate negligent docs and insufficient systems for accessing effective care.

Very easy to understand, explains in "normal terms and careful of what he prescribes.

Doctor is great. Horrible Staff. You cant trust them to schedule an appointment or make sure the doctor gets the information needed. The office needs a professional manager and they are soon to loose business if they continue to neglect costumer service. First chance i get I'm changing provider.

Very disappointed with the care received. His cell phone kept ringing thru the appt. He excused himself 5 times and left the office during my apt time. Never apologized or explained why he left the office. Was not listening to what I had to say and pushed his opinions to me. Very poor psychiatrist.

The doctor himself is a great man. The staff are rude.

He is the best medical professional in his field. His staff isn't always the best, but I can't hold that against him because he is so wonderful. Thank you for all of your help Dr. De Llanos

Has a one size fits all approach to psychiatry that he does not deviate from, regardless of what the patient says. His practice focuses on ADD and he tries to emphasize that diagnosis and treatment even when the indicators are not conclusive. The one redeeming feature of the practice is the friendly, courteous staff.
