Dr. Arif Khalil Mirza, MD

Dr Mirza is an excellent listener and makes great recommendations based on the individuals needs. I think he has the ability to make people feel comfortable and provide help and support. This is the first time I have dealt with someone willing to have me see a separate therapist that I have been working with but will still follow through with me to help with management of my mediation. He makes sure to get my medication refill sent to the pharmacy in a timely manner and is available for questions if they should ever come up. I am confident that I have the best possible person in my corner!

I've been seeing Dr. Mirza for over a year now and very happy to have him as my doctor. I feel like he takes a legitimate interest in my mental health needs. I feel like he's always in my corner.

We were with Dr. Mirza for almost 2 years. Gave us 30 days notice during the hight of the cornavirus pandemic. I thought it was very unethical. Under normal circumstances, it took us 2 months for our 1st appt with Dr. Mirza. Now during a pandemic, he wants us to try to find another provider within 30 days? I don't care if your taking over care at another hospital's patients. He was your patient, first.

Dr. Mirza is a joke. We waited months to get in to see him and it was an absolute waste of time that we do not have. Our son has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and was referred to him as someone more knowledgeable to treat this condition. He is very unprofessional and talked to us with an attitude. A real doctor would know how to talk to patients with this disorder, and the way he treated our son caused him to suffer a major setback. He only spent about 10 minutes with us but yet charged our insurance the full visit of $300. Because we asked questions, asked why he was talking to us with an attitude and causing my son to get upset, he advised that he cannot help us. When our son asked, "Are you not going to help me?", he stated, "It is my right as a doctor to refuse treatment." It is clear that Dr. Mirza only wants to treat ADHD kids so that he can use his special test that insurance does not cover and which parents will pay for to make easy money. He is not a real… psychiatrist who will actually treat mental disorders. Do not waste your time.

Dr Mirza is a caring and knowledgeable physician. He has helped my son with his ADHD and is very open to trying new medications when there are any unpleasant side effects. He is non-judgemental and understanding. Dr. Mirza is very easy to talk to and up front about his concerns. As a parent, I trust Dr. Mirza with the delicate task of helping us to find the right medication for my son. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Mirza.

I only wish there were an option for 0 stars. My daughter saw Dr. Mirza in an inpatient setting. Despite several requests, he would not communicate with myself nor her dad. Not only that, he also put ideas in my daughter's head which lead to some serious accusations and disrupted our family further. Dr. Mirza jumped to the easiest diagnosis possible, without exploring any other options. He never asked simple questions that could've discredited the thoughts he put in my daughters head. All the while, never speaking to either parent about what was going on. He left that up to the therapist who also was confused by everything going on. She is now being seen by a great team of doctors that were willing to take time with my daughter, ask appropriate questions, and order the applicable tests. Had he asked, listened, or communicated at all, he would've known to explore other medical problems that led to her mental problems. I was never given an official diagnosis. Upon reviewing records that… I was able to obtain, I realized he never performed any official assessments on her. He should be ashamed to be in his profession. I just wonder how many other children he's done this to, how many families disrupted with his incompetence.

My daughter was so nervous prior to the appointment, partly because she did not know what ADHD really meant for her lifestyle and was embarrased to reveal personal information. Dr. Mirza put her at ease with his child-friendly explanations and validated her concerns. Dr. mirza has wonderful bedside manners and I highly recommend him!

Took careful notes and info. Looked at and actually read previous testing reports. He explained how use of electronic medical records reduces his eye contact but ensures all records are shared with therapist and pediatrician. Would highly recommend!

Took care of my teenage daughter while she was in hospital. She felt comfortable sharing things from her past that lead to more accurate understanding on issues and treatment.
