Dr. Shakir is incredibly pompous, sexist, rude, and condescending. Every time I've been with a loved one for an appointment with him, he's spent less than 15 minutes in the room, and most of that is spent yelling at the patient or arguing with the family support system as to which medications the patient is supposed to be taking. He prescribes medications that react poorly to each other, implements dangerous protocols during patient care, is vengeful and petty, and seems like he just generally does not care about anyone except himself and his money. I have not yet met a nurse who's worked with him who likes him or agrees with his advice or practices. I encourage anyone with a negative experience with this doctor to report him to the medical board because I truly think Dr. Shakir is negligent at best.

The doctor was courteous, professional and was willing to educate when asked questions, something not often experienced with doctors.

While Id like a shorter wait, Dr. Shakir is worth every minute of it! He has never gotten my diagnosis wrong and didn't make me wait when I had a heart attack and saved my life.

LONG WAIT BUT WORTH THE WAIT TO HAVE A GREAT DOCTOR. THE NURSING STAFF IS ALWAYS VERY VERY NICE, SEEMS TO REALLY CARE ABOUT ABOUT HER PATIENTS.

Sometimes you might have to wait for Dr. Shakir to come in from the hospital. But think about this - he was at the hospital when I had a heart attack and he saved my life. I have no problem waiting.

He completely misdianogised me. Alway runs very very late. Office staff and nurses are not very polite and helpful. I finally found another doctor who is in the process of dianogi ng my heart problems.
