Dr. Arjang Kamjani Miremadi, MD

I have seen this doctor regularly since 1990 but recently two years ago I needed him to take a look at my chest moles and he injected me with same type of medication that he did for last 15 years. It seemed like it was no longer work as before but he did not advise further action but told me "do not come back any more...." without causes/effect. Thank you, dr. but no thanks. I won't see you again forever but advise to all new patients out there be careful of this office practice manner.

I was referred to Dr. Miremadi through medic-cal for a skin cancer screening. He was friendly and removed a mole on my chest that I didn't even know was there. He did it with an anesthetic injection which wasn't too painful and it healed up nicely. He didn't call afterwards so I assume it was benign because he said he would otherwise. I contacted him about a white spot on my nose about 6 months later. During the appointment, we were making conversation while he was examining me. I told him I went overseas to the middle east and he asked me what country I had been to. I said Israel for my father's funeral and I thought he would give me a shot again to lesson the pain but instead, as soon as I said the word Israel, he used some kind of very sharp and extremely painful scalpel on the bridge of my nose without any warning to try to remove the white spot. It was the most pain I ever felt in my life! At one point I told him to stop so I could psyche myself up for it and take a few deep… breaths, but he just kept digging and digging after I told him 3 times to stop. It felt more like a knife attack than a medical procedure. It was awful! My eyes were watering afterwords. I bled a little bit and I was in so much pain that I'm not sure he could even get the job done right after it was over because I was flinching from the pain. It was a very traumatic experience. I'm not sure I'll ever go to a dermatologist ever again! I've healed up somewhat since then but I think I now have 3 white spots instead of one. I asked a friend of mine who had plastic surgery if he could have given me something to numb the pain but she seemed to think that because of where the spot was located near my nose, he couldn't numb me first. What he should have told me is how painful it would be before he started digging into me with the scalpel so I would have a better idea of deciding if it was worth it. I don't know what nationality he is, but as soon as I said I went to Israel, the scalpel went digging into me. He knew I was in pain and said he was sorry he hurt me but the procedure still doesn't look right. I hope it looks better in a few months. I hope medic-cal will give me a different dermatologist next time and if he reads this I hope he won't go digging into a patient without warning or an anesthetic. I'm not sure if the Israel thing was just a coincidence.

I went in for a mysterious mole. Dr Miremadi assured me it was benign but did a biopsy anyway. After weeks of not hearing anything I began calling the office repeatedly to get my test results. I FINALLY received a bewildering phone call in which Dr Miremadi mumbled and overtalked me so badly that I could hardly understand him and could barely get a word in to ask any questions...i learned that I had a carcinoma that needed to be removed. He never used the word cancer and I had to google what I THOUGHT he said to get some clarity on what I actually had. The mole turned out to be cancerous. When I arrived for my appt to have the mole removed I was told there’d be a 2hr wait past my appt time with no explanation given. To remove the mole, Dr Miremadi used the least effective and most outdated method of removal and the cancer returned in the same place only a couple months later. At this point I sought out a new dermatologist who used the most effective method (MOHS surgery), actually let… me ask questions, and explained things thoroughly. I would NEVER recommend Dr Miremadi to anyone.

My journey with Dr. Miremadi started 20 years ago. I had trouble with my skin off and on in my mid to late teens, but one day it crossed the line to completely unmanageable, it was horrendous and touched every aspect of my life. My dad had suggested an appointment with his long ago derm Dr.Obaji, but as it turned out Dr. Obaji had moved north by then to further develop products and treatments, my father had been told by the former coordinator that Dr. Obaji entrusted (yes, entrusted) Dr. Miremadi his clients. My first meeting with Dr. Miremadi was wonderful, his staff was lovely, even one of his patients assured me I was on my way to better skin, that Id chosen well, upon discussion I was told her skin was worse than mine just three months previous. How??? I was looking at a very pretty woman with beautiful skin, it was nearly flawless. I remember thinking, I will take just half of her improvement. When I made it to the back Dr. Miremadi gave me hope and some very straight talk. I… remember him admonishing me for waiting so long (which I needed) and reminding me that a skin problem is not solely a cosmetic one, waiting for it to pass is never a good idea and that scarring is a real possibility. Acne scars are notoriously difficult to get rid of AND they tend to look worse with age. In short, he saved my skin then and now. I have always taken my skin very seriously since that first day in his office. I moved to NY and became a devoted follower of all things Wexler, but will never forget Dr. Miremadi and how he battled my very stubborn skin into dare I say great skin in what seemed like a blink of an eye. I had lunch with an old colleague a few months ago and her skin looked amazing, glowing, downright youthful. DR. MIREMADI !!!!! a series of treatments that frankly took my breath away. I am back on the west coast and ready to tackle some new issues with him. I am so glad to see he is still in practice, still making great skin possible. I can not in this space adequately convey my gratitude for this physicians talent.

I live out of state now and have gone to other doctors who ask me who I have seen in the past. I was just looking up doctor Miremadi to get his phone number so my dermatologist can call him for records. I can't believe there are only two review postings. In my experience Dr M. was always professional. He was recommended to me by a friend who had very bad scarring from acne. She saw Dr M who performed a chemical peel that reduced her scares considerably. Her skin looked great. I couldn't see any skin issues. Anyhow, he performed a chemical peel on me to remove melasma. Now my complexion was clear for approximately 4 mths when the pigment returned. Melasma is a pigment that is deep in the skin and can only be superficially removed. Nontheless I was very happy with the results. Dr M educates you on what to expect after the procedure based on the condition. Since moving out of San Diego I had two additional chemical peels that did not render the same results. I now realize how much I miss… Dr M's expertise.

After many visits to other dermatologists I found dr. Miremadi. For the first time I felt like the dermatologist knew what he was doing, actually CARED about me as his patient and spent time fime explaining things to me. He even checked my skin (including feet!) for freckles without me asking. In the past dermatologists would not care much about my concerns about a cyst I had on my skin saying it's a cosmetic procedure and requires a 'mini surgery'. This doctor actually injected medicine into the cyst and it went away on its own. I'm very happy I found this doctor. I would definitely recommend him.
