Dr. Arlene Patricia Keller, MD

I am writing to formally document my experience with Dr. Arlene Keller and the staff at [Practice Name], including the receptionist Nancy. My interactions with Dr. Keller have been consistently unprofessional and, at times, confrontational. During a prior appointment, Dr. Keller made an unsolicited comment regarding my weight, asserting that I was “overweight” at 132 pounds. When I respectfully disagreed with this characterization, Dr. Keller became visibly upset. Subsequent interactions have been marked by a lack of empathy and professional decorum. On multiple occasions, Dr. Keller displayed cold and dismissive behavior, particularly when I requested a second opinion or clarification regarding my care. Despite providing feedback regarding these concerns, I have been avoiding visits to Dr. Keller’s office due to the manner in which I have been treated. As a result, I have not sought medical services from her for a significant period, which has impeded my access to necessary care. I… have also encountered repeated barriers, including long delays in scheduling appointments due to insufficient responsiveness from the office. Most recently, I called to schedule an appointment and was required to call twice over a period of two weeks to receive a response. When the office returned my call, I was informed that I was being dropped as a patient due to a purportedly extended gap since my last appointment. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with both the decision and the office’s lack of follow-through, the receptionist stated she was on vacation, would pass along my message, and subsequently terminated the call abruptly. The cumulative effect of these interactions demonstrates a troubling lack of basic patient care, professionalism, and customer service. The repeated displays of unkindness, condescension, and administrative negligence have directly impacted my ability to access necessary medical care. Based on my experience, I strongly advise others to avoid seeking medical care from Dr. Keller and her office at all costs.

Dr. Keller has been my primary care physician for a number of years and I am very pleased to be under her care. She has provided excellent advice when I have needed it, and she always gives me forewarning of things I need to be thinking about or doing to be proactive in my own health and care. I also appreciate that she does not encourage medications / pharma intervention if unnecessary. For example, I have friends who upon entering menopause were advised or encouraged by their doctors to start taking prescription drugs for symptoms that are fairly minor and just a part of the aging process. Dr. Keller is always willing to talk about options for various physical discomforts but she is also careful to indicate the potential cons of such approaches. I should note that 4 stars is my highest rating; I don't think I'd ever give 5 stars unless my doctor's visit came with a free massage!

I am surprised to see the bad ratings. Dr Arlene Keller has been nothing short of brilliant in my care. She listens carefully, does comprehensive but appropriate testing and has referred me to the best specialists when needed. She has taken the same care with my husband. I am a medical professional and did my research before choosing her. She is an excellent provider. Recently our insurance changed and we were automatically assigned to another physician that I liked as well. However, I spend over 30 minutes on the phone with the insurance reps to ensure that I was put back with Dr Keller. If you choose this physician, You will be in very good hands!! PS She is prompt with communication on her messaging portal- my husband and I appreciate this immensely and it has saved us time and money on unnecessary trips to the doctor.
