Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I grew up in a time when careers were limited to law, medicine or engineering. Medicine allowed me to work in a compassionate, human setting. Over the years, I developed an interest in cardiology and never saw myself as anything but a cardiologist. I was fascinated by the workings of the heart, its profound effects on people's lives and how to help people take care of themselves. My job and my patients provide me with constant motivation to do more. I like nothing better than hearing my patients say that they feel better and are back to the business of living life. What I want my patients to know about me:I always put myself in your and your family's shoes. My recommendations for your health are based on years of clinical judgment, but I never lose sight of the fact that you are a person, not just another patient. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. We love to travel …as a family and have been to many countries. Travel brings perspective and gives me an opportunity to appreciate the universality of people.
