Due to lack of timely blood and urine testing discovering the diagnosis of gestational diabetes. This diagnosis necessitates an early delivery along with close monitoring of the fetus and the mother's blood sugar during the pregnancy to ensure the health of the placenta so it can provide enough oxygen and nutrients to support the fetus during labor and delivery. Babies born to diabetic mothers are usually large babies which are at risk of needing to be delivered by C-section. This was also overlooked. An oxytocin stress test was misread causing delivery of the infant to be delayed by 2 weeks past the due date. Approximately 2 to 3 hours after admission to the labor and delivery unit of the hospital the baby died during labor and it was determined the death was due to the many errors made in not diagnosing the diabetes and the failure to properly read the stress test which indicated the fetus was in ditessvduring contractions 2 weeks prior to delivery.

liked Dr Donovan, and the experience at the office was quite pleasant, BUT He recommended a rather drastic procedure not because I was having a problem but because it might mean I could stop having periods. I mentioned the painful cyst found on ultra sound previously in that same office and was asked by both nurse and doc, "who told you that's what it was?" They did! it later came to light that the ultra sound tech did not save a pic of the cyst in question and no one wrote down the diagnosis! I sought 2nd opinion. I don't need a dnc, an hta ablation, or a hysterectomy. I needed Advil. I will never go back.
