Dr. Arthur W. Douville Jr, MD

Dr Douville is a real find. Instead of the wait and then rush to get you in and out he took time to listen and draw on a wealth of experience to answer my questions and provide more than I expected. He is a warm, caring person and provided complete information and help. Recommend him highly.

Dr Douville was the 7th neurologist I saw over the course of 2 years for an unusual neuromuscular disorder that was stumping everyone and causing painful, crippling, and life threatening symptoms. He immediately initiated diagnostic procedures that no one else had considered which resulted in insightful medication changes that resolved much of the pain and neurological symptoms. Dr Douville tirelessly advocated for me in my efforts to find other specialists to resolved my remaining orthopedic problems. He has always been accessible, generous with his time, communicative and willing to collaborate with other physicians as my team evolved. He has been particularly helpful with post op pain management. His willingness to think outside the box, skill, compassion, and responsiveness changed the course of my life which otherwise would have ended in a wheelchair, homebound, with little if any quality of life. His small office staff is highly competent, always HELPFUL and extremely… personable. You may have to wait, as appointments tend to run over, but he is worth the wait.

I went to Dr. Douville after suffering with migraines and nerve pain in my neck. He treated me over the course of two years now. No more migraines and after a cortisol shot no more neck pain!

If you are looking for a neurologist, I highly recommend Dr. Douville. Dr. Douville is extremely knowledgeable with many years of experience, but what makes him special is the time and caring he puts into his patients. For those with MS, the ER can be a nightmare. Dr. Douville meets us there and assembles a team to care for my husband. On multiple occasions. Each time he is there when you need him most. He is readily available and follows through on every detail. He communicates proactively with you and all the doctors. He is also a tireless advocate which is essential for patients with MS in the hospital. Dr. Douville ensures my husband gets the very best care, and relieves the stress of those of us caring for a loved one with a chronic illness. We are indebted to him.

Dr. Douville is extremely professional and goes above and beyond to make sure all of my questions get answered during each of my visits. If I happen to still have questions, I can always reach him through phone or secure email and know that he will reply within 24hrs (earlier if urgent). His staff is very friendly and welcoming.

This is an amazing neurologist! He's very kind, thorough, intelligent, and knowledgeable. He has a warm bedside manner that's hard to find today.

Dr. Douville was one of the best, most caring, doctors I've had, and at one point after my child was born I had 10 of them. He was patient, and just kept working on the problems with me. I never felt like I was at a dead end. He was a forward thinker and not afraid to try different "cocktails" to help my headaches." I thank him for not blowing me off, the day I delivered, as other neurologists did. He saved my life, and my child's.

I met Dr. Douville on a unfortunate trip to the ER. I was immediately impressed by his demeanor and willingness to listen to me as I was describing my problem. He had mentioned to me that he was wrapping up with his current patients to take on a new venture working at Good Samaritan Hospital. In that same breath, he realized that I was struggling to find out what was causing my issues and volunteered to see me at his practice even though he technically wasn't accepting new patients. This was above and beyond what he was required to do which really impressed me.I was very pleased overall with his attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure I received the proper treatment. He even personally called my insurance company to ensure that all my tests were covered and everything was set up. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Douville. His response was quick, he made sure to follow up with me and he showed a genuine interest in my diagnosis and my wellbeing.

I have been a patient of Dr Douville for 18 years. He has always been courteous and genuinely concerned about me as an individual. It is apparent that he is up to date with treatment therapies and is willing to try them if he feels it will be helpful. Under his care, the quality of my life has dramatically improved.
