Dr. Arthur O Seltzer, MD

Dr. Seltzer has the attitude of "I know it all, so how dare you have a question; just shut up and do as I say". He does not answer questions or explain anything. I find him disrespectful and dismissive.

Dr Seltzer looks after my entire family ... he is friendly, personable, doesn't over dramatize but doesn't minimize either. His office is also very responsive to calls and concerns.

Dr. Selzter was my father's cardiologist for over 40 years. For the most part, he was a very good cardiologist and cared for my father. But...as my father got older and Dr. Seltzer got more comfortable with his own reputation, he became dismissive of my father's complaints. My father was 82 and came to Dr. Seltzer's office complaining of tremendous fatigue and brain fog all before he was schedule to spend two months in Florida. Dr. Seltzer, a supposed specialist in aortic aneurysms, never checked my father, told him he was on his 8 out of 9 lives (like a cat) and told him to go to Florida and enjoy. My father suffered from extreme fatigue, sleeping constantly. When he returned home after a long rider from Florida he was extremely tired, again. 36 hours after returning, he seized up, fell into unconsciousness because an UNDIAGNOSED aortici aneurysm had burst. It had been leaking from the time my father went to Dr. Seltzer until it burst..and was never checked by the good Dr. He… was rushed to the hospital and subsequently died. He didn't need to die. Had it been diagnosed, things might have been different. But if there could be a worse part...he was so concerned with his reputation and fearful of a lawsuit he couldn't even acknowledge my mother with an 'I'm sorry'. After 40 years as a patient, he refused to speak with her. Other doctors contacted her and acknowledged her loss, not his cardiologist. He's not a mensch. I gave him two stars because, sadly my father did trust him all these years...much to our disappointment.

If not for Dr. Seltzer's knowledge and expertise over the last 20-plus years, I probably wouldn't be here writing this review. He takes pains to find the right combination of medication and treatment to deal with my condition. His bedside manner is appropriate for the situation - serious when necessary and witty when things are good. He was recommended by a doctor and I'd recommend him to others.

Dr. Seltzer is direct, but I like that. He has a sense of humor but is very knowledgeable and pays attention to what I say, and he is genuinely concerned. I like him a lot and he came very highly recommended.

Dr. Seltzer is abrupt, dismissive, and has a poor bedside manner. I would not recommend him.
