The lady at the desk was rude to me apon my arrival. I was rude back. When it came to being in the surgery room , the good doctor thought it would be a good idea tell me how someone was pestering his nurse. then he proceeded to shove a needle in my spine before that anesthesia had a chance to work. I remember screaming so loud. I remember the anesthesiologist panicking the shows more anesthesia in my IV. Then after that I was out. When I came to I was crying because I had remembered what had happened. These are things that you would see on TV that are done to humans. Nothing real life. This happened 6 years ago and I can't forget. Matter of fact sometimes I wake up from nightmares about it. So if your plan is to go to this doctor, you better be on your best behavior and don't give anybody lip or you're going to pay for it. That's my experience with doctor. Shame on him for giving me pain and nightmares.

This guy will not prescribe more than 3 pills per day. I was on oxycodone 10mg 5 per day when i started seeing Dr Palencia. First thing he did was put me on fentenyl patches which did not work for me except to make my pain worse and me feel like crap. When i asked for my old medication back he gave me 3 10mg per day, so then i was ok while at work but i would be straight to bed when i got home. Basically my quality of life tanked. I stopped doing stuff at home due to my pain level being terrible. I became depressed and stressed. When I told Palencia that i was having trouble sleeping and that I needed something better he tried to give me a higher dose but my insurance will only cover the 10mg. Due to Palencia not prescribing more than 3 pills per day(why) I have had to suffer for the past 8 months. Dr. Palencia needs to work with the patient as a team to find what works, in my case he did not. He never seemed interested in what I had to say about how I felt, and he definitely did not… seem concerned as he only wanted a follow up appointment after a test. He never asked how the meds were working and when I tried to tell him how I was doing he did not seem to care. I know my situation is only going to worsen as I age and that I can not be fixed but to me it felt like Palencia was trying to fix me instead of working on me having a quality life. I just want to be able to work to provide for my family and to be able to spend some quality time with my kids but that was not going to happen with this Dr. In other words Dr. Palencia failed miserably at managing my pain, Since coming to him my pain has increased and my quality of life has diminished greatly.

Dismissing your pain ,basically telling you you’re making things up until they see proof .Treating you like a drug seeker (I don’t do drugs , abuse pills , alcohol or even cigarettes) but they treat you like that’s why you’re there, poor bedside manner with Dr telling you, you must not be in pain because you’re too young , looking at MRI results from 4 years ago and saying oh ok I see why you’d be in pain ... so imagine now !

May 19th advised by PA, Dr Palencia and Pain Clinic will no longer accept California Workers Comp cases or patients. Advised to find another MD to continue medical care. No referral just no more care !

I've had two PRPs. Pain is gone in both knee and shoulder, and are healinging nicely. Recommend this over surgery any day!

I came in with severe pain in upper back and now I am almost pain free. Dr. Palencia is a great doctor and his staff is top notch.

This Dr is good, but the office treats you like a drug addict/drug seeker so getting your rx requires playing their game of random drug screens, both before apts and at rx pick up- calling 5 days ahead and waiting until 10 am when the office opens at 8am before rx is released. I am a patient with CRPS type 2 stage 4. This is not something you can "fake" and I feel tortured playing these games to get my meds. There are a few gals at the front desk that are sweet but everyone I've dealt with in the back office are brash and unprofessional. The way they take your vitals in a large hallway calling out numbers has got to be a HIPPA violation! Dr P has been pretty good about offering me help and care. It's not because of him ;but the way the practice makes normal people feel like drug seekers that I will look for a new pain management group. I'm going to talk to my primary care dr about their policies because he offered to do my meds. I think it would be way simpler.

Avoid this guy. During the procedure, kept making comments about things not going how he wanted. So after the procedure, I wanted to talk to him to ask what happened. He refused to talk to me. Saying he is a jerk, unprofessional, uncaring, completely forgot why he became a physician (people) would be an understatement. I can't urge you enough to find another physician to treat you.

I think he is very arragant and very rude. His bed side manner is very very poor and the stuff is always rude . He may know what he is doing and is good at his profession but he is a JERK !!
