Dr. Arun Kumar Somani, MD

I finally am being followed up appropriately. Dr. Somani listens and is a compassionate professional.

He diagnosed my condition fairly quickly and adjust the dose to the correct amount in 2 months. Very professional towards me as a patient. The attention during this first months was adequate, although he tends to be very opinionative and give unsolicited advice. After the dose get adjusted he seemed not to care anymore about you: he speed up the sessions, looked bored and/or distracted and the whole experience become a mandatory visit every month, just for him collect his check and issue a monthly prescription (no more than 30 days). Apparently is related to the Florida law, but I am not sure. I got a trustworthy opinion from two females patients of him and - according to them - he could have a negative biased attitude toward women and - sometimes - a bit sexist. The receptionist is extremely efficient regarding appointment management, but she does not have control over insurance activity. The only who does that is Dr. Somani (!?) and very often he make mistakes. The office does… not accept credit cards or debit cards. He only issue paper prescriptions and ever - never - FAX them to Pharmacies.

The worse experience ever. Never back again and I would never recommend this dr. To anybody. Stay away

Truly empathetic to his patients. He does not over medicate and he is extremely patient; he even understood my unorthodox living conditions and did not ever judge me based on my alternative/eccentric appearance. I've recommended him to family and friends who have returned with nothing but wonderful things to say about their experience. I would still be in his care if I hadn't moved so far away from his office. Now I hold every other psychiatrist to the high standard which he holds himself to. Thank you, Dr. Somani!
