Dr. Arun Seevaram Varadhachary, MD

I can't say enough about the care Dr. V. gave to my mom. She was diagnosed with PSP in Savannah GA and we convinced my parents to move to St. Louis. We were referred to Dr. V and he saw her almost right away. His care of my mom was unprecedented. He helped manage meds, many of which she didn't need, worked with mom's other Dr.'s regarding some meds and spent much time talking to me and explaining what was happening and why he was taking the course of action he was taking. He was always prompt answering my emails, no matter how late I sent them or how silly the questions seemed to be. Even when mom was close to uncommunicative, he always spoke directly to her, waiting for her to answer the best she could. Such respect for my mom, even in her illness. He checked on her towards the end of her illness and was extremely helpful in the end. My mom has passed and he recently called not only to give results but to check on my dad and family. Again, I cant say enough.

Very knowledgeable and current on medical issues. Very personable.

This dr sucks! Poor bedside manner and he never returns your phone calls for at least 2 days sometimes 3.

I was in hospital and was getting steriods per my Multiple sclerosis doctors request inpatient. She was leaving on vacation therefore left me in Arun hands. I ended up back in ER with steriod withdrawals sugars dropping below 50 he would not and did not give me taper dose and I have always tapered off gave me last Iv dise 599mg at noon and discharged me at 2:30pm with no follow up number or anything just told me to call regular MD if any problems I did but he was unsure what to do since he was not one treating me so I ended up in ER sugars below 50mg muscle weakness pain stiffness All could have been avoided if he would have sent me home on taper dose I asked for He looked at me like I was crazy. Totally disrespectful bad bedside manner. Also had spinal headache from spinal tap and in tears he wouldn't do anything about it but told nurse to give me Tylenol I will be filing reports in him

I was so looking forward to the oppurtunity of being assessed and possibly finally diagnosed, by this Doctor, who is outstanding in his field. I was very disappointed. I did do an exam as far as ROM and pushing and pulling against to evaluate my muscle stength but no electrical evaluation. I have been having an increase in weakness over a period of 8 years and he basically told me in a VERY nice way ...that I'm just crazy. He never took into consideration that maintaining strength is something altogether different. But instead told me it is only my perception that I'm weak. He never order any muscle biopsies or specific genetic testing which is what I went to the big city for anyway. He actually said to me... after he had me explain what my symptoms were and what my concerns were. " I've been waiting from the start to hear just what you were going to come up with"

I found that this Doctor was exceptional in every way. He took time to listen and take everything you say seriously. He diagnosed my problems in a very short time, only 2 or 3 visits. He would definitely be my doctor of choice for any Neurological issues.

Dr. Varadhachary misdiagnosed and mismanaged my father's condition, . Considering mal-practice lawsuit. Beware of this doctor.

Dr. Arun Varadhachary was the Dr. who was able to diagnose my daughter's illness correctly. For decades, I the mother had been knocking on many physicians doors seeking answers for my daughters perplexing physical/mental decline to no avail. He listened intently, and I felt his sincere dedication to help my daughter from the moment the exam/questions began. This man is truly an asset to Wa. U. and to all of the patients he treats. My daughter is so blessed to have him as her physician! I am so grateful that Dr. Vardhachary did diagnose my daughter's Neuro-degenerative disorder that other physician's overlooked. Dr. Vardhachary is one-of-a-kind. It seems almost rare these days to find a physician who exudes innate professionalism; charismatically displays sincere uplifting personality to a patient who faces a grim situation in a time of great need to feel important, and to know that someone is really listening, and can help.

I can't even explain in words what a great doctor this man is. I've been bounced between doctors for 6 years and spent 2 years with one specialist and could never get a diagnosis. After 6 months of seeing this man he gave the an acurate diagnosis and just in time! I started losing my ability to walk and use my muscles, I have myositis. He is now starting me on treatment and I couldn't be happier. This man truly changed my life for the positive and if I wouldn't have found him when I did I have a feeling my health issues would still not be resolved. He paid attention to things other dr.s overlooked and has always followed up and gotten back with me promptly where others have left me hanging, waiting for a call back for weeks. This doctor truly and deeply cares about his patient and I feel like he puts everything he can into helping each patient. I am so grateful there are wonderful doctors like him in the world!

He is an acceptional doctor. Very caring and follows up. I am blessed to have him as a doctor.
