I always liked Dr. Kulkarni until I saw this side of him. I was scheduled for a routine colonoscopy and he came to the OR angry with me that he had to drive to Duluth, which I guess was an inconvenience for him that morning, instead of doing the procedure in Lawrenceville. I had no idea why he was yelling at me, I was gowned, in the OR room, IV’s hooked up and ready to go under for the procedure. He berated me and expressed his disdain for me the entire time I was being put under. I was in a total state of shock, disbelief, and then went to sleep. When I awoke I burst into tears in the recovery room and that experience traumatized me and haunts me to this day (had the procedure in 2014, and just found this review site). I did nothing wrong, was given a choice of hospital by the scheduler. This horrific experience and his despicable conduct was witnessed by the attending nurses that were assisting. They wrote him up and it is a well documented case at the hospital. He is vile,… arrogant, and has anger management issues!

Both my husband and I visited Dr. Kilkarni to have a routine colonoscopy--give my husband prescribed muralax--it worked--i recd no prescription call office said buy OTC--cost $18--didnt work, detailed service and explanation to husband, me i got nothing --billiing dept close 11 am--my husband billed as routine, myself billed as diagnostic, they want $206--if you a woman, find another Dr, if you are a man--easy breezy

Dr. Kulkarni is great!! Also, his nurse Evelynn is the best!! The worst thing about this Dr is his appointment staff. It took 17 minutes and 56 seconds today to obtain an appointment for a long time patient. Incidentally we were told (this morning) to secure this appointment as Dr. Kulkarni requested Good luck dealing with this arm of Southern Gastrologist

I was a patient of Dr. Kulkarni until my last visit. I realize I'm not going to the doctor to make friends, as I have many issues that need to be addressed, but Dr. Kulkarni made me feel as though as he despised me, his job, or maybe both. He has not kept up with my records, and somehow managed to lose a procedural report, therefore, I had to have the same procedure again; this time with another doctor. Since being with a new doctor I get to feel whats it's like to have a truly caring doctor who is organized and professional. No more leaving the doctors office feeling stressed and overwhelmed. No one should put up with a mean spirited doctor while they are not well. There are good doctors out there! Just be cautious of this one .ð???

I was referred to Southern Gastroenterology by my primary care physician because I have persistent vommiting with diarrhea; which is no fun! My doctor was Dr. Kulkarni. My initial visit, I spent most of my time waiting in the room, which is fine if the doc is good, but he waswas very cold when he finally arrived. I immediately felt like I was inconveniencing his day. I gave him my previous records from my old gastro doctor, and tried to explain my issues, only to be constantly interrupted; being told "OK, OK " as if to rush me. He ordered me an upper endoscopy. Immediately following the procedure, he stated I had gastroporesis, and a hiatal hernia. He ordered 2 more procedures, which included a gastric emptying study at the local hospital. As far as the results go, I was always told "no news is good news." I was never followed up with. I called twice to schedule a follow-up, but only received a call back when I told my PCP that I was never followed up on. By the time my appointment… rolls around, it has been an agonizing 3 months. I waited in the office for an hour and a half, then called back to the room only to wait another 35; and past closing. When Dr. Kulkarni came in, he was flustered and rushed. He didn't even have my records, only notes from the initial visit; which did not include the 3 procedures performed. He stated, ."Looks like everything is normal." What? I had to tell him that he diagnosed me with gastroporesis and a hiatal hernia. Then he asked what medication he prescribed for it? I told him that I was never prescribed anything. Then he looked perplexed. I asked him why he never followed up with me, he stated, "that's not my job, you're not my only patient." I told him that was not my problem that he was overbooked, and he should take it up with his scheduler. I have never felt more mistreated by a supposed professional. I told him I wanted my records so I could go somewhere else. He refused to give me my records, and I also had to pay for a service that he did not provide. Dr. Kulkarni said, " we' re done here," and pointed to the door. No service rendered. I kept demanding my records, which were in his hands, but he childishly refused. I declared how wrong it was for him to withold my records, knowing something is wrong with me. I traveled over an hour, and waited for 2 only to be treated like absolute dirt. This guy should not be in practice.

This is one of the best doctors that I have ever seen.He listened to my issues very patiently, analysed them methodically, prescribed the line of treatment along with his future plans. I recommend this gastroenterologist whole heartedly. I felt better just after seeing him!

I have been having stomach pains for quite some time and no other doctor took the steps to figure out my problem. Dr. Kulkarni was very thorough in his questioning to understand my problem and help me. I ended up needed to have my gallbladder taken out and have been pain free since. I also love that Dr. Kulkarni has the ability to do procedures like colonoscopies and GI's in the onsite endoscopy suite rather than having to go into a hospital. The office was clean and comfortable.
