If you want to protect your self esteem and your child do not go to this so called doctor . He puts wrong diagnosis and reasons you are seeing him and incorrect medical codes . Then yells at you on your time that the insurance isn't covering and he will not treat your child anymore . He hates being challenged by a woman and will make it seem like it's your fault your autistic child is having behavioral issues . I am so happy this ignorant , cruel individual who uses everyone as s cash cow , abuses his front staff and is s nightmare is finally facing legal charges according to the local news . It's about time .

I do not understand the reviews Dr has received. He is a very kind and gentle Dr . He has helped save my son and myself and has done nothing but show compassion. While no doctor is perfect and obviously we as patients who require help with our minds are nowhere near perfect he really does help and care. Sure his billing leaves a little to be desired but to read the reviews I’m disappointed with what’s being said. Try and find a psychiatrist who does not want you there at least once a month and I think you would be surprised that most want to see you multiple times per week. Please don’t blame him for your stare of mind try and work with him .

I gave 1 star only because the staff and receptionist are great at this practice...otherwise Dr Shah would have got no stars. Do NOT recommend!! Dr. Shah needs to retire. He treats my husband. I call Dr Shah only when I desperately need it during my husband's episodes! I usually handle my husband's illness and never call Dr Shah for no reason. Dr Shah knows this! My husband lied maipulated a situation during this episode which he does (that's why Dr has me attend each session) When my husband finally made an appt after my 1st call in this episode. My husband never told me when the appt was. He wanted Dr to think I was the over reacting and really stressed over other situations which he made up. Dr Shah called me on the phone and yelled at me for "not coming to the family appointment " that I knew nothing about. Yelled, that "I needed to be evaluated be cause I was being over sensitive" (Very unprofessional),because of the lies my husband told because this is amongst many things… part of this illness! I could not believe my ears! After 15 yrs of treatment and trying to explain what my family was dealing with and what concerns I had been dealing with such as-Sleep pattern being off and husband sleeps about 4 hrs a night if that and still has so much energy!! Husband is nice 1 min, angry the next then he will laugh and then cry, we have to walk around on eggshells Becomes very holy, going to church then wants pple to kiss his the cross he recently started wearing, (he hadn't gone to church in many yrs) husband talks in riddles and very fast jumps from 1 subject to next then saturates himself with mafia movies movies then mimics a mafia persons character and behavior- walking and talking and then acts like a mafia guy, he gets aggressive, confrontational, interrogates, always picking a fight, verbally abusive and demeaning- Accuses me of having a boyfriend then the next breath tells me to get to get one. Then says I'm nothing with out him, get a job: financial abuse, he provokes fights then says...."now dont have a heart attack"- because he stresses me out so bad. Then he constantly bringing up WELL I have bipolar disorder. Cant even have a conversation: twists every word and has passive aggressive behavior. Deliberately fails to finish a task or something he starts, all out of spite. This is not normal behavior and if Dr Shah thinks I need "help" and I was being "overly sensitive" well I think it's time for him to retire because no one should have to live like that! Going by a person's medical history and a family member who saw behaviors for 15 min at a time. Try living with someone like that. So YES....I was being anxious and upset BECAUSE of my hubands behavior NIT because of factors my husband made up. I called Dr Shah in the PAST and had no problem!! A a corrective treatment was put in place. For a Dr to get manipulated and believe a patient with a severe illness and history of this behavior it's time for Dr Shah to go!!!! Very rude, very unprofessional! These are people's lives!! I call for guidance in these situations not to be told I'm being sensitive and need to be evaluated. Hmmmm, maybe he is right for having cared and stay in this situation too long!! Having said all that; There are much better Drs out there!! If anybody knows of a good one, let me know.

My experience for the last 4 years that my autistic son has been treated by Dr Shah has been the absolute worse . He has caused me more anxiety than when I enter the room for the 20 minutes we are there . He is demeaning and talks about your insurance on your dime . All he cares about is getting paid and not about the well being of the patient . He does not want your input. Dr Shah talks at you..writes a script and makes you come back in a month so he can do it all again . A whole lot of nothing . You need a psychiatrist yourself after you go with your child who ends up the same as you first started . He will not refer you for any other services and claims he has no knowledge that you need to research yourself even though it seems that's all you ever do to get your child help . He is a waste and the only reason you ever keep going back is because he Is basically the only psychiatrist that is supposedly specialized in this area . Never again.. the minute he thinks he's not getting… paid by your insurance is the minute in front of your child he tells you he will no longer treat your child . He is unethical in my opinion and only cares about the money. You or your child is a cash cow .

This doctor bills for a visit to the insurance which is for a 30 to 45 minute visit (99213 or 99214 & 90833)per patient. The doctor will spend 10 minutes with you if you are a new patient. If you are a returning patient he only spends 5 minutes with you. He is always double booked, so how the insurance commissioner hasn't investigated this doctor I do not know. I honestly would tell all patients to challenge his billing and to report him to the insurance commissioner. It is so very sad that in today's day and age with psychiatrists being so far and few - that there is such a greedy, rude little man who takes advantage of those who are really mentally struggling or their families. Also he charges $100 per page for any paperwork you may need! Very horrible physician!

The suboxone program made me feel like a normal person.

I have been going to him for a little over a month. He does not talk to me at all. I understand that phy- chiatrists no longer do talk therapy but he doesn't even find out about about other physical and mental problems you have been diagnosed with previously. I have MS and Bipolar disease and yet he prescribed a medication that should not be used for an MS patient. I ended up in the emergency room with an overdose of the medication, not being able to walk, think, or use my hands well because of trembling. Most visits with him were 10 minutes where he handed me a prescription and then had me leave but stated all appointments were the same price regardless of time spent in his office. I believe he is in practice only for the money. DO NOT USE HIM FOR PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES.

Although Dr.Shah is a well educated man he has the knowledge to help with addiction and family support he is completely over booked and burned out.His staff is very caring and were the reason I stayed as long as I did .This is a difficult business to run with very little psychiatry in the mix.He should have retired years ago.

In general: this man will diagnose you with one thing, then claim to have "cured" that issue while diagnosing you with something else. At the same time, he'll prescribe you medication that may or may not help and will refuse to listen to you when you say the medication is not helping or making you feel strange in any way. Also, good luck if you're using him for addiction treatment: you'll wind up on Suboxone or similar for the rest of your life (because he'll never agree with you that it's time to start cutting back on it) OR until he and his office staff shake you down for money. I got a call from the office threatening to cancel my treatment if I didn't make a payment and this was two days after I had paid them $100. When I brought this up to Dr. Shah, I was told that I needed to take responsibility for what was going on in my life and stop hiding behind my panic disorder. Keep all of this in mind if you can't afford to pay more than $100/month for their services!

I was there for stress disorder and I was not there for 5 minutes when he was judging me without listening to a word I said he made me feel like a looser and he belittled me how is he still a doctor idk
