Dr. Asad Hamid Khan, MD

My wife had an incredibly distressing experience with this psychiatrist. She went in hoping to be heard and supported, but instead left the appointment in tears feeling dismissed and belittled. When she tried to show a short video to help explain how she was feeling (something that helps her communicate when words are difficult), the doctor flatly refused and said, “I’m not going to watch a video about it, I want to hear you say it.” That set the tone for the rest of the appointment. He interrupted her repeatedly, and when she shared prior ADHD concerns, he told her, “I’m an expert. I gave you a thorough evaluation. You don’t have ADHD.” The way it was said came across as condescending and dismissive, as though her voice and prior diagnoses didn’t matter. Even more troubling, when she tried to explain why she stopped a previous medication by saying, “when you guys were messing around with my meds,” he cut her off sharply and said, “We don’t mess around here,” visibly upset instead… of calmly allowing her to clarify. At one point he said, “Anyone in their right mind wouldn’t put you on a stimulant,” which was a deeply stigmatizing and hurtful thing to say to someone genuinely trying to manage their mental health. Overall, he gave off an air of “I know best, you know nothing,” and invalidated her feelings throughout the session. It was not a safe or supportive environment, and we would not recommend this provider to anyone seeking thoughtful, compassionate psychiatric care.

Disrespectful, callous, even went as far as raising his voice at my 70 year old mother. Someone needs to take his license.

Horrible experience! The doctor is so rude I just walked out. He pretty much called a liar when his staff told me suite 6 and actually it was suite 7. He said nobody told you that. Ummm yeah they did. The day before I got a call saying the appointment was at 8am and I questioned it saying isn't it at 7:30. And yes it was at 7:30. Needless to say at 7:20 suite 6 was locked sign on the door says opens at 8am. I stayed in the area in case someone came to unlock suite 6. Finally at 7:50 I see someone in scrubs heading towards suite 6. I asked what time do they open and she said 8. However she went into suite 7. I followed. The dr rudely told me I was late. I tried to explain what I was told and he did not believe me at all. Then he tells me that he is a professional and doesn't have the time. Well by that point my blood is boiling because I am also a professional and I also went to college. I also took time out of for this appointment. To this dr you are no better than I am.… You are just and arrogant person who thinks you are better than others. Regroup yourself you so called dr.

Dr Khan is a very good doctor! today I had the pleasure of seeing his new Nurse Practitioner Theawna Trisvan (AKA Miss T) she took her time with me and she answered all my questions and she listens to you, she is a very good health care provider!

When I initially started going to this practice and seeing Nelli, I was receiving great service. Since Nelli has left the practice, the new NP that I am seeing doesn’t even make eye contact with me during my visit, and the front office staff does the bare minimum. They have lost medical records and I have gone back and forth with my providers multiple times, and I was told there were fax confirmations. This current NP has written out a prescription for for an ADHD medication incorrectly, and I received pushback when I called in to have it corrected. I have driven back and forth to my pharmacy TWICE today. They told me to write in the address myself, I did what they told me, and the pharmacist would not accept it. They won’t send the prescription electronically, even though they legally can. They are telling me to drive over an HOUR back to their office, even though they’re the ones that made a mistake. I do not recommend this practice.

Dr. Khan has to be the best doctor in town, If you have mental health issues it's a must to see Dr. Khan, He will get you feeling good again.

Don’t bother.

I came to see this Dr. in Deland and my first day after an intake I experienced him throwing paper work at his office worker. My second appointment they never told me they moved there office and I arrived 15 min early to an empty locked door office. I called from my car and they said oh sorry we forgot to call we moved to the Daytona office. They gave me the address and it was 35 to 40 min away. I arrived to be told they can’t see me because I was late....as a single mom they made it harder for me to pick up my daughter for there mistakes. This Dr. seems to be controlling and manipulating minds for a psychiatrist... I feel he is taking advantage of mentally ill And there’d insurance. If anyone has a bad experience with DR. ASHAD KHAN I just want you to know it’s not you.... and hang in there. He takes advantage of your weakness of any mental illness instead of making you better. I found the best caring group who made up from all his damage. I have PTSD… but I still know what’s going on in life. I’m writing this review to help anyone that has a bad experience with him because what he did was inhuman and unacceptable especially here in the US. That is not helpful for any mental illness which they need to focus on more then anything. I don’t know how this professor got this far treating his patients like this but he is very controlling and taking advantage of mental illness.

He lacks empathy and is evidently a selfish doctor. Not recommended for anyone. Please visit some other place for psychiatric evaluation.

He won’t read your history and will try to change your medication to whatever he wants. I suffer weeks of no sleeping, went back to him desperate and had 2 different people treated me. Never saw his face again. Only Arnp’s to his charge trying different medication and doses!
