Dr. Asad Mehdi

Pro: I really liked the NP I was seeing. (5 stars). Con: A provider is only as good as their support staff (2 stars) Before I get to the support staff, let's talk about the doctor. I was a patient for 3.5+ years before I spoke to him. Our first appointment was scheduled for 20 and billed for 30 minutes. Actual length? 7 minutes. He called me "my dear" several times which I think was an attempt to build rapport, but it landed somewhere between fake and lecherous. (2 stars for him) Back to the support staff, all offshore except the office manager. There is often a language barrier, like when the billing department called and asked to speak to "Doe Jane" instead of "Jane Doe" and referenced my recent visit with "Smith Mary." I usually need to call twice before someone answers the phone, and need to leave several messages before the provider gets them. On 2 occasions, I had a conversation with the NP where I mentioned trying to reach her several times and she said she never got a message… until that day. Another time, the receptionist called and said, "[NP] wants me to tell you that she had an emergency and left early. She won't be able to call you today, but she will call you tomorrow." The provider hadn't been informed that I was looking for her. And didn't call back until I had left 2 more messages and spent 2 weeks thinking that she was purposely avoiding my calls. Another time, I left 2 messages for and emailed the office manager over the course of a week. When I called the next week and said I thought there was insurance fraud happening, she called me back immediately. Billing practices were explained in different incorrect ways by the billing department and then the office manager, both of which led me to believe there was insurance fraud happening. When I finally spoke to the NP, she explained it in 30 seconds and it made sense. Yes, the NP is good, but she doesn't operate alone. I stuck with her for nearly 4 years, but I finally got fed up with everyone around her.

I am a former Dr Hutto patient handed off to Dr Medhi's practice. Maybe i was spoiled by 20+ yrs of professional service, I was SHOCKED but the utter lack of compassion, service n even competence. Medhi n his practice ignored me for 2 months, lied to me regarding my care and medications and basically lft me feeling utterly helpless for 2 days so as not to disturb their weekend FAIR WARNING ESPECIALLY FORMER HUTTO PATIENTS: Find a new psychiatrist cuz this practice is in the very least incompetent n unprepared or at the very worst wilfully negligent and won't hesitate to lie to your face and then try and blame u for their errors.

Dr. Mehdi took time to learn what I needed to get better. He is very knowledgeable and kind. So glad I found him.

He is really a genuine Doctor who cares About your well-being.

I highly recommend Dr. Medhi. He is very professional and truly respects and wants to help his patients. I have been seeing him over three 1/2 years now and he has always asked if there is anything he could do to help me. I tell him about new problems and issues I have along with how much I appreciated him helping me with depression and very many traumatic events in my past that I have overcome with his help. He is always only a phone call away and is there whenever I need to see him earlier than a scheduled appointment and helps me with the coping skills I need and have needed for a very long time. He is sympathetic to your pains and problems physically or mentally because he has helped me get through both. I don’t know what I would do without him. TOP NOTCH PROFESSIONAL and his staff are very friendly and go out of there way to help as well.

I have been treated by Dr. Medhi for over 3 years now and I would have never been able to get through some of the most traumatic times in my life (that initially I tried to deal with myself) but after I met Dr. Medhi I knew he was the perfect doctor for me , one that I could totally trust and be myself and upfront with without worry of harsh judgement. He is a fabulous doctor and I have been well on my rais to recovery for three years now and still see him. He is incredibly empathetic and sincerely cares for his patients. I know he is always there when I need him and a phone call away. Thank you for tremendously helping me, Dr. Medhi! You are a God-send!!!

Good luck reaching the dude ever.... failed multiple times to call in prescriptions that he said he would. Could not reach him for days or weeks at a time. I went weeks without a medication I need bc I could not get in contact with him to make an appointment. STAY AWAY

Ignore the high ratings. They are staged. Dr. Mehdi is a seriously dangerous doctor that should be sued for malpractice. He threw me into his mental hospital without provocation when I was seeking a second opinion from him. I have a doctor to back me up that I wasn't ill at the time. He refused to discharge me even after he admitted his mistake. He is collecting insurance money by accusing patients of an unsubstantiated illness and admitting them to a prison where patients are abused. Many other patients can back this up on Yelp. Don't put your life in jeopardy by seeing him.

I've had a lot of psychiatrists who lack empathy and care. Dr. Mehdi is not one of them. He's been very honest and understanding with me, he is easy to talk to, and he has not shamed me nor made me feel guilty when I make mistakes in my treatment. He's never made me feel like I am abnormal or less than human while most doctors I have had will make me feel this way. I appreciate him a lot.
