Dr. Asad Murtuza Naqvi, MD

I have know Doctor Naqvi for over 20 years. He is a great Doctor. He is not a drug pusher. So if that is what you are looking for, you might want to check else where.

Worst psychiatrist ever!! Does NOT listen, does NOT make eye contact!

This physician arrived at the office after my scheduled appointment. I was worried about how long it was going to take to be seen because his very small waiting room was standing room only with many people ahead of me. They proceeded to call people back one right after the other with no one staying back there more than a couple of minutes. I learned why when it was my turn. I have a very complicated medical history with over 12 surgeries since 2000, yet he did not really want to hear anything about me, he just wanted to prescribe Seroquel even though I tried to tell him that I had a previous bad experience on antidepressants and wanted to avoid that treatment regimen at all costs. I was forced to see him based on new laws being implemented around the opioid epidemic and instead of listening to my 18 years of medical history and what worked well for my body, he dismissed me. I am a nurse with 30 years of health care history and this is a slippery slope that we are heading down to… provide appropriate care for patients. We are going to need physicians to make sure they still listen to their patients and advocate the appropriate care for the individual patient. While I may not be his typical patient, I noticed other patients referring to concerns regarding him not listening.

This man seems to hate his job/profession! He rarely even looks at you. I should have left him long before I did. He keeps his head down and scribbles his notes. If any questions get asked, you are the one asking. He even periodically slams his door and goes for a walk. Went elsewhere to support for my disability claim. I was suffering so badly, crying at work. I begged him to consider helping me to apply for SSDI. Even after a suicide attempt, he was like a stone-faced stature. I finally lost my job. I did get disability eventually. If you ever wind up at Anchor Hospital in Atlanta, ask to not be assigned to Dr. Asad Naqvi. He is not invested in his line of work, nor in your best interest!

I was recommended to this doctor by my primary care physician. I had to wait for over an hour to see him during my initial appointment since he was late coming to the office. While sitting in his packed waiting room, I was witness to several unsettling things. When I asked about the co pay for the visit, the receptionist just laughed in my face hysterically. I only saw him for about 15 minutes and he told me I need a therapist (which I had to find) to be treated for depression and also needed to join AA... all this in just a few minutes?? He also gave me two prescriptions for meds I already have... total disaster. Stay away! I am now in search of a good therapist and hope to have better luck. in my opinion Naqvi is only in it for the money and could care less for the mental health of his patients.
