Dr. Asad Ali Shah, MD

I was going to Dr Shah’s office for years but unfortunately in the last 3 to 4 years there has been a lot of turnover, lack of communication or no communication, incorrect patient charging, incorrect billing, never return phone calls, do not complete and or forward referrals and just a lack of common courtesy overall. And it doesn’t seem that Dr. Shah has any time for you always in a rush and or doesn’t listen to what you’ve told him the first time.

I have not seen Dr. Shah but I’ve heard he’s good. But I call to change my appointment date but they put me on hold forever, reception answers my call and I told her of my situation, she didn’t say a word put me back on hold forever. I hung up. That’s sad if Dr Shah is a great doctor. Just trying to change an appointment.

I was admitted to St.Joes in Elgin, IL Was treated by Dr. Shah's M.A. Never saw Dr. Shah. He'd wake me at 5 :15a.m doing rounds. He softly said, do not ever come back to this hospital! He said it again when he discharged me. I was upset for weeks after that. Still am.

My family has been going to Dr. Shah for over 15 years. We absolutely love him and I find him to be an incredibly engaged, caring and talented physician. He definitely takes the time necessary to understand his patients’ lifestyles and needs. Unfortunately, his staff is not even close to representative of his personal brand. They are unkempt, unprofessional, they lack knowledge and they are Definitely hurting Dr. Shah’s practice. They never deliver on what they promise. Faxes are never sent. The male individual who works there is incredibly Kurt and rude. If it were not for Dr. Shah’s Incredible talent and ability,I would never visit this practice again. The staff is just terrible.

Dr gets 2 stars for his bedside manner and that's it. Receptionist Is a witch, David, his assistant is rude, curt and "says" he sends things via fax and yet they're always screwed up, with me repeatedly having to call. But today takes the cake. Supposedly Dr got a call LAST week that I was in hospital and told David to cancel my appointment that he already confirmed. No phone call, no message. Who does that ??? So no appointment after driving 35 minutes in the pouring rain. So much for my follow up appointment. The staff truly sucks.

i love dr. shah and i have also been seen by two nurse practitioners who work in this office. But their receptionist is truly a nightmare. i have been hung up on, she is rude, she will not greet me (or anyone), she will not acknowledge that i am waiting to ask a question, she is snippy, i have heard her hang up and saying: "whoops! guess they have to call again" on other patients while i am waiting. she is truly the worst person i have ever had to deal with in healthcare. I heard her snapping at a patient who had tried to call and inform them that she would be late and how she couldn't get anyone on the line. i am not surprised because this has happened to me. mind you, i always call during office hours but for the last year and a few months, i cannot get through. Dr Shah, if you ever read these, i am on the verge of switching drs because of this jerk. I seriously am incredulous!

I always have to call to make sure they are completing my referral or get my lab results. No one calls back when you leave messages so disappointed

I have been seeing Dr. Shah for several years now at this point. His communication style works for me. I have been trying to get healthy for a long time and he challenges me when I am there in a motivating way, never talks down. The office staff is always very pleasant and easy to deal with. Would highly recommend him if you are looking for a local physician.

Absolutely the most genuine dr I have ever been to. And this is coming from a person who does not trust Drs very well. Dr shah is awesome
