Dr. Asha Kancharla, MD

Dr. Kancharla was great... she identified why I have lower back pain, and was swift about starting injections...

She is a great doctor. She talks with you to see what the problem is and works to get you to your goal. I love her. I like her no nonsense way of doing things.She doesnt pull any punches. She tells it like it is. Like it or not she lays it on the line. At least you know where you stand with her.

I have been a patient of hers for two years and she has done wonders for me. She took me off a higher dose drug and lowered me down two two drugs that were more effective together than the other ever was. I think she is a great doctor.

Dr. Kancharla is very difficult to deal with. She pushs injections and makes you feel like you have to get them even when you tell her that they don't help your pain. If you tell her you dont want them anymore she will refuse to continue your medication.

I have been seeing Dr Kancharla for a little over a year now and she's a fantastic doctor. I had a pain for over two years that apparentally no other doctor could figure out what it was. I was going through so many pain pills and ibuprofens in a months time that it was unreal. The first time that I went in to see Dr K she sent me in for x-rays and figured out what it was right away. She did one injection and it took care of that pain right away. She found out that I also had 5 buldging disks that have had to have a few more shots and are going to have more done to get rid of all of the pain. The reason for all of this was due to a heart attack that I had and had passed out straight down on my tail end and it messed up my whole back. But today I got a call from her office and since Medicaid is redoing everything they have knocked her out of the network and the office staff told me that they are trying their best to get back in the network but has no ideal how long it will take and… suggests that I get my primary doctor to send me to another pain specialist. Well I love Dr Kancharla and am very comfortable with her and have no plans or desire to go to another doctor. I will go to my primary and see if he can keep me on my pain meds that I am on seeing how I am addicted to them right now. And I will go back to her when she gets back in the network. I have seen someone on here say that she's very unprofessional and uncaring and that is very far from the truth. They said that she has no sympathy to the poor that are on medicaid and the young. Well I can't say anything about the young. But I can definately say about the poor old and very over weight. She has been nothing but caring and very professional with me. And I care so much about her and the way that she runs her practice that I will wait to see her again. The only problem I have ever had with her at all was learning to pronounce her name at first but my name is not easy to pronounce either so now that i can say her name i'm sure not leaving!! and it took me a little while to be able to understand her. But once you get use to talking to her and being around her it gets real easy. I would recommend her to anyone that needs a good doctor. She will give you pain meds to keep you at ease till she can get the problem fixed but she gets the problem fixed and you off of the meds as soon as possible...

I went to have an opinion on my MRI for my mid back and shoulder pian. Very courteous staff and very nice office space and evnironment. Dr. K came within 2 minutes to see me and explained in detail and very lay words so I can understand about my problem and MRI along with what options I have for treatment. She did an injection in my (I think) T spine which helped tremondously. Now I can work on my computer with no pain and not needing any medicines. Thank u Dr. Kancharla.

I guess if someone desperate to get narcotics do travel long long distances to find a doctor. Looks like Dr. K recognises the concept and well aware of the treatment needs as she treated my mother with injections rather than writing just pain pills. It is so sad lot of us think pain doctors means writing pills. I am so proud of her as she explained well on treatment options instead giving pills.

Very disappointed and I can see the lack of basic knowledge and the latest developments in the medical field. She is unprofessional and rude.

I traveled 2 1/2 hours to see her because it is so hard to find a doctor in my area that takes "Medicaid". So, I found her and the office staff said it was fine to just send off my MRI's and Demographic info and wait for approval if she would see me. Well, she approved and boy was it a waist of time and money. She was fake at first and was kind of nice and once I told her that I have had a steroid injection and it speedup my heart and I couldn't do that type of injection again, then she said I could have another kind of injection- one that only would give me 2-3 hours of relief (Lidocain). What a waist of my time to go to Athens 2 1/2 hours away and get an injection in my back at a hospital that only lasts 2-3 hours. She said I would have to see a surgeon since ALL she does is injections, she doesn't help with medicine. I mentioned getting a selective Nerve Block which burns the nerve that my herniated disc is pushing on and she was wishy washy about helping me with that and I asked if… a surgeon does that and she said NO. She didn't help me AT ALL. I never met a Pain Doctor that didn't help people with pain. I don't even think she is a doctor. I called her main office to complain about her and how badly she treated me and even her own staff said she was VERY Blunt and not understanding most the time. I was put on hold when I called to check if she would take me as a patient and the staff asked me to hold because she had to get the "Doctor" her lunch. What is she, an Egyptian Princess. I feel sorry for the people that stay under her care because she is doing them such a dis-service. Oh yeah, her staff also told me that she just started accepting "Medicaid" insurance and that could also be another reason why she treated me so horribly- I guess she discriminates against the poor and young. She's a terrible person with NO HEART- please don't see her because she won't help you anyways. Use your money and time on a "REAL" doctor.
