Dr. Ashar Afzal, MD

I have seen Dr Afzal for over 20 years treating me for various types of pain. He is a very nice DR. Answers all your questions and offers what he can do to help. Orders necessary tests and medications to help your pain issue. Without his help I couldn't function today. His staff is amazing calls me by name when I come in. Thank u all for making my life better!

Dr. Afzal and his staff were the poorest I have ever been to. Do your homework, he was convicted of medical malpractice and paid out a $7.6M lawsuit for a reason! Dr. Afzal did not keep his word and his staff is completely incompetent! Wasted 6 mos. of my health needs being strong along on a fiasco and miscommunications between himself and his staff. He wants your business but doesn't want to fill out FMLA paperwork. My employer is strict and requires the amount of time that I needed off for treatment to be documented under FMLA. Dr. Affzal agreed but said normally he or his office staff fill out paperwork for their patients. He said if I forwarded the paperwork to his attention he would make an exception and fill out the paperwork so I could proceed with time off for multiple appointments to get a MRI and physical therapy before my insurance may consider paying for surgery. We agreed and forwarded the FMLA paper to his office to his attention as directed by him, attaching a detailed… letter stating the same. His office staff didn't even take the time to read the letter attached, never forwarded it to the doctor to be filled out as directed. Rather, they through it all back in my postage paid envelope and returned it all to me not filled out, no cover letter, nothing explaining why it was being returned! The office manager, got involved, apologized and said she talked to the doctor and he will fill out the paperwork if I returned it. I was told it was just an error on his staff's part, because they typically don't fill out paperwork for their customers. I drove the paperwork back over to his office in person. Again the office manager apologized and said she would forward it to the doctor to be filled out. The following day the office manager called and said she talked to Dr. Afzal and said he changed his mind and will not fill out the paperwork because there are no notes in their system and he doesn't remember having that conversation! So now, I have wasted 6 months of time, my condition worsened and I have to start completely over with my primary care physician.

Dr. Afzal is an excellent professional pain management physician. He treated my blinding lumbar pain with RFA treatment He gave me back my active life. His treatment was the best alternative to complicated, possibly risky neurosurgery. I highly recommend Dr. Afzal.

I have seen this doctor for many years and trust him and his staff completely. You wont find a better more compassionate person. If not for him and providing me with the meds I need I would not be able to function. The staff knows me by name and no one judges you for being there to get help.

Both my husband and I have been to Dr Afzal many times.He is an excellent MD.! He is so compassionate and believes your pain .We both have had numerous epidural injections neck x 2,low back x 3 and trigger point injections. We would not trust anyone else.I am an R.N. X 40years. Doctor very rude and didn't care about or didn't believe I was in pain. Also one of the nurses had to call me back on a issues and left a message on my phone well she didn't realize she didn't hang the phone up so I heard her talk bad about me and another patient. Julie you should really pay attention to what your doing!!

I have always been treated very well at his office. He listens to and answers any questions or concerns I may have. I highly recommend him

Dr Afzal was absolutely the best I could hope for. He is brilliant, professional and most importantly he is compassionate. I received epidural injections and pain management meds. I even had an emergency situation and they fit me in right away. I really can't say enough good things about him and his staff. Dr. Afzal gets ab A+Ã?+ from me.
