Dr. Ashish Kumar Gupta, MD

More than a year passed since I had an appointment with Dr. Gupta, but I still cannot get over the experience with him. Over the time, I came to the conclusion that I need to say something. Maybe Dr. Gupta is a good doctor, but I will remember him as a very rude, inconsiderate and unprofessional physician. Upon hearing my accent, very rudely he proceeded to inquire about my national origin. Despite having time to inquire about my national origin, he did not have time to discuss a problem that I presented with. As I was waiting for my turn to be seen by Dr. Ashish Gupta, I could observe that after seeing each patient, Dr. Gupta would walk out of the exam room to a reception area and orally dictate the history of a patient into his laptop computer. Other people in the waiting area and I could easily hear the health history of each patient leaving the exam room. And this is exactly what happened to me. After completing my appointment, Dr. Gupta left the exam room and continued to… dictate my health history in the reception area where everyone could hear it. Dr. Gupta does not take appropriate measures to protect the private health information of patients by dictating it in areas where it can be easily overheard by third parties. As far as I could see, this was not an isolated incident but something that was taking place repeatedly. After my appointment I noticed that Dr. Gupta submmited a claim to the insurance company using CPT 99204 code. This is a high level code used to bill for new patient visit, lasting 45-59 minutes. Among other things, this code requires comprehensive history, and comprehensive examination neither of which was not done in my case. The exam and health history collected were not comprehensive. My visit with Dr. Gupta lasted at most 10 minutes and he did not answer my questions. Being generous here, I can add 10 minutes for EKG. But even this time does not approach 45-59 minutes that the 99204 code requires. It seems that Dr. Gupta’s office submitted a fraudulent claim to the insurance company. To summarize, I am deeply shocked by my encounter with Dr. Gupta. Because of his unprofessional behavior, I had to seek help elsewhere and pay again for a new appointment. Essentially, Dr. Gupta took my money while providing nothing in return.

Treated me with passion and precise. He became my cardio out of blue and amazingly treated me AND MY FAMILY as Old-time Friends. Bless him and the team (Missing Him) ??
