Dr. Ashish Jain, MD

I have been coming to see Dr. Jain for quite a few years now and find him to be highly considerate, informed and responsive. I have had nothing but excellent experiences with him as well as his wonderful office staff. I have a background that includes psychiatric healthcare and would gladly recommend him.

I was very uncomfortable and not at ease at all during my session with Dr. Jain. He didn't get up or shake my hand when I walked in. Did not really smile or act inviting at all. He continuously interrupted me to ask different questions without letting me explain my answer for the previous question. It felt like he was just going down a checklist. He also checked his phone several times including telling me to hold on while looking at his phone for 30+ seconds. He never asked what I wanted, be it medication or what, and just prescribed me a daily pill. The whole experience felt much like I was a student being lectured by the principal in his office. He did not get up to see me out either. Althogether a very uncomfortable experience and made an already hard thing to do even harder. Being under scrutiny is already stressful enough without feeling rushed through a hasty q&a.

Dr Jain was good, personable and willing to hear what you have to say. However his office staff is rude, lacks compassion, poor records, accusatory, unkind, unhelpful, unprofessional, and doesn't care to listen to a thing you say - only has their agenda to discuss and doesn't want to hear from you. While the doctor was good, its his front staff that patients have to deal with on health issues, symptoms, side affects, appointments, and insurance as such I would not recommend this doctor

When I first saw Dr Jain he told me that he didn't believe in putting me on a whole lot of medication but he ended up putting me on four different types of medications. Let's.just say I've been on and know a lot about the medication used to treat my illness. If you tell him anything thing is wrong all he wants to do is either up the dose or just take you off the medication. It is frustrating because I have an anxiety and it is hard to get him to write a prescription for a medication for my anxiety. I have social anxiety if it where up to me I never leave my apartment. When he does prescribe the medication he only gives you like 15 pills but wants you to take them everyday. So my response to this was I was just going to smoke some weed just so I can go to work and do the basic things in life. He asked me to get some blood work done to check the usual cholesterol cbc but like most of us don't know how to read the paperwork. So I get the test done go to my next appointment come to find… out he also ordered a drug test with out my consent. Now every time I see him he tries to act like my dad "did you quit smoking weed like I told you?" Of course I don't denie it because one I have real bad anxiety and you only prescribe me 15 pills for what 2-3 months till I see you again I told him I need something for everyday.

I have seen quite a few psychiatrists over the years, unfortunately. Dr Jain has all the right qualities you would want in a psychiatrist. Basically no time sitting in the waiting room. He's very thoughtful, he listens to me and always seems to adjust my meds just right. I have seen others but no one compares to Dr Jain.

He just ask a few questions and changes your medication every month. I feel he never really listened to me. I am very sick and he does not see it.

Ssaw him for a couple years. He misdiagnosed me and kept me on wrong medicines. Was in and out of appointments and only spent 5 minutes with me. He did think I was crazy

I'd highly recommend Dr. Jain. I never have to wait more than 10 minutes to get in. He is a good listener - I never feel rushed, but he also doesn't stretch out the time longer than necessary. I always feel like he listens to my concerns and makes his recommendations taking my impressions into account. He also is understanding about cost issues, and will find discount cards or samples whenever possible. With mental health medication management, you really need to feel like you can trust the person writing the scripts, since it will totally determine how your daily life goes. And I totally trust Dr. Jain.

I've been seeing Dr. Jain for a while. I hope he never moves/retires! I have seen about 6 psychiatrists over the last 10 years, and never felt as comfortable as I do with Dr. Jain. When someone is prescribing meds that can really alter your day to day life in the extremes, its so important to trust the doc. I've had other docs who would change my meds too quickly or prescribe too high of a dose, and it really affected my ability to get thru the day. I trust Dr. Jain. He always listens to what I'm saying, and the appts last as long as I need them to. Also, I never have had to wait more than 10 minutes from the time of my appt to get in. And 10 minutes is unusual. Usually it's just a minute, if that! Other psychiatrists I've seen had a typical wait of 2 hours! I HIGHTLY RECOMMEND DR. JAIN!!!!!!
