Dr. Ashita Gehlot, MD

I relocated to Texas nine months ago and am in the process of establishing relationships with new healthcare providers. I was referred to Dr. Gehlot by my new primary care physician (PCP), and today I had a scheduled follow-up visit with her, following my new patient appointment last week. At my initial appointment, I arrived to find no one at the front desk or in the office to greet me for 12 minutes. When the receptionist eventually arrived, she mentioned they had been closed for lunch, although there was no signage indicating this—even though the office was technically open. Once I was taken to the patient room, I waited an additional 30 minutes for the provider to arrive, despite being the only patient there following their lunch break. Nevertheless, Dr. Gehlot maintained a polite demeanor, (which I now realize is fake) and we proceeded with the new patient appointment. Unfortunately, today’s 4/17/2025 visit was even worse. I arrived on time, having already completed the check-in… process and paid my share of the costs. Upon checking in, I noticed that a radio at the front desk behind the mirror was playing quite loudly—loud enough for me to comment on it. The reply I received was, "It’s loud so people in the lobby can’t hear what’s going on in the exam room." After waiting 15 minutes past my appointment time in the lobby, I was finally called back. The medical assistant (MA) began asking me health-related questions that were entirely irrelevant and appeared to breach HIPAA standards. I had to ask the MA if she was sure she was looking at the correct file. She also inquired about family history questions I had already provided through their portal and discussed with the provider just seven days ago at my initial visit in detail. When Dr. Gehlot entered the room 35 mins after my scheduled appt. I tried to express my concerns about my experience. However, she responded dismissively, saying, "If you have a problem with my staff, then you have a problem with me." I clarified that my feedback was intended to help address possible training needs for the MA, rather than being an issue with her directly. Despite this, she repeated her earlier statement and added that she was "trying to de-escalate" the situation. Her body language and facial expressions became noticeably angry at this point. I pointed out that I, as her patient, was simply sharing feedback directly to her, but she appeared more interested in trying to gaslighting me by repeating the above, I informed her she needs to de-escalte herself and that I would seek care elsewhere I requested a refund for the appointment. She followed me out of the room and instructed the front desk to process the refund. I wish I had reviewed the comments about this provider before scheduling my appointments. Now that I’ve seen recent reviews, I can empathize with others who have had similar negative experiences. I have since filed a grievance with my insurance and the Office of Inspector General (OIG) regarding potential HIPAA violations. I also informed my primary care physician of this experience to ensure careful consideration before referring future patients to Dr. Gehlot. AA women beware there is Medical Biaswith this provider.

Dr. Gehlot is a compassionate physician who takes the time to listen and does not make you feel rushed. While suffering from symptoms of menopause, Dr. Gehlot was knowledgeable and very informative in helping me to manage my symptoms. She considers the whole patient and is easy to speak with.

I love Dr Gehlot she is the best gynecologist I have ever had ! She listens to you she’s very caring . She is very gentle and tells you exactly what is going on why it’s going on and tells you every move she’s going to make ! My last visit I had a procedure done Dr Gehlot put a rush on it so that she herself could call be with the results! I hope I can find out where she goes because I will follow! If you’re looking for a great gynecologist choose Dr Gehlot you won’t be sorry ! Thanks You Sandra Sappington

Sr. Gehlot became my Gyno a couple of years back and was the first person to realize that I had Endometriosis. After years of suffering horrible pains I finally got an answer to what was going on! I am forever grateful for God placing me in her care. She is the BEST Gynecologist I have Ever had!!! Thank you for Everything and you will be missed.

I'm 34 weeks into my pregnancy and Dr. Gehlot has made me feel comfortable from the second I met her. I have never had trouble scheduling an appointment around my schedule, there has only been one appointment where I was not seen right on time, she takes time to explain every step of my pregnancy, and always asks if I have any questions. She's so good I wish she could be my Primary Care doc. I would recommend her to anyone!

I have had two appointments with Dr. Gehlot thus far - she has been compassionate, listens and gives options and has taken her time with me. It is a busy office, as is most ob/gyn offices are, but the staff and Dr. Gehlot have been extremely nice and helpful!
