Dr. Ashley Ann Atiyeh, MD

Dr. Atiyeh was one of the most dismissive and hostile physicians I have ever encountered. I came to the ER two weeks after major pelvic surgery with uncontrolled pain, persistent vomiting, multiple syncopal episodes, and a documented fall in the hospital. Instead of receiving compassionate care, I felt accused, interrogated, and treated as though I was a problem rather than a patient. Her chart reads less like a medical evaluation and more like an attempt to discredit a patient who was advocating for herself. I was so concerned by her behavior that I requested another physician and patient advocacy while still in the emergency department. After being discharged, I sought care elsewhere. A CT scan performed later that same day identified a 4 cm postoperative fluid collection requiring surgical follow-up. No patient recovering from major surgery should be treated with the level of contempt, bias, and lack of professionalism that I experienced. I have reported this encounter to… hospital administration and DORA.
