This doctor prescribed and had morphine administered to my mother without my consent as my mother's MPOA, and with a documented record of me adamantly and consistently refusing the use of narcotics with my mother. The day that morphine started to be administered to my mother for pain associated with constipation, this would prove to be a fatal error as my mother passed soon after she was given this oral drug without consent by me, or notification to me about the use of morphine. My mother died within 45-60 minutes of an 'increased dosage'. To administer any medication without the consent of the patient or MPOA is unlawful. There was no attempt to contact me or seek my consent. As reported four hours earlier by my mother's RN, my mother's vital signs were good, blood pressure normal, heart fine. My mother's death after the final dose of 'increased morphine' was described in documentation as a 'sudden decline in patient'. This doctor is not being held accountable. BEWARE!
