Dr. Ashley Rae Bouzis

Helpful and kind.

Dr. Bouzis primarily does medication management and is less interested providing psychotherapy support. During Covid, I could tell my mental health was rapidly declining and called the office to request an urgent consultation because I urgently needed additional meds. The first available appt I could get with her was a month later. I felt that Dr Bouzis really didn't care about a patient in crisis.

When I was in crisis, I contacted Dr Bouzis for an urgent consultation. She advised to book an appt with the admin desk. The first available appt was a month later! All they could do was have me call the evening services. Each night was someone different, not an ideal situation. I couldn't believe that she was so indifferent to my urgent need for consultation.

I see Dr. Bouzis for anxiety and go to her for both my medications and therapy. I like being able to go to the same person for both. She has really helped me through some very tough times and I would reccommend her.

Before I went to see Dr. Bouzis, I was very clear with her office that I have depression and anxiety and also chronic pain. I was also very clear that I did /not/ want her to manage my pain medications, as I have a fabulous neurologist and headache specialist for that; I was only looking for someone to manage psych meds. After an hour-and-a-half-long, $350 appointment, she informed me that she does not manage pain medications or medications for patients with pain. She then failed to refer me to a psychiatrist who might be amenable to managing psych meds for a pain patient. The appointment was a waste of both time and money, as well as emotional energy. I would recommend that if you are a patient with any kind of pain issues, you should find a different doctor.
