I am sharing my multi-year experience with this provider to help future patients with complex health needs determine if this practice is the right fit for them. My care ultimately revealed a significant mismatch in medical philosophy and communication. First, I am a patient who values investigating the root causes of systemic health issues, whereas this provider operates strictly on a traditional, symptom-based MD approach. For patients managing multi-layered health conditions, this difference in philosophy can lead to major friction in achieving long-term wellness. Second, there were serious oversights regarding medication and laboratory monitoring. After a lab panel was run, I had to personally identify that my Vitamin B6 levels had spiked to toxic levels—approximately 800% over the normal range. Despite this critically high result being on file, this provider left me on the active B6 prescription and did not suggest discontinuing it. Third, I experienced ongoing barriers regarding… testing and insurance coverage. On multiple occasions over the years, I was told by the provider that necessary vitamins, minerals, and complex blood work were not covered by my insurance. When I spoke directly with my insurance company about these issues, they actually recommended that I file a formal grievance against the provider's office to get the testing approved, creating continuous friction just to get basic lab work done. Finally, there were troubling discrepancies regarding my electronic medical record and care continuity. Following an emergency room visit at Banner Health, I was given a referral to a Banner specialist who issued a single, necessary prescription. This provider later falsely documented in my permanent chart that I had established another primary care doctor and was seeking outside prescriptions. When I addressed this inaccurate note in person at my next visit to explain it was standard emergency continuity of care, she verbally declined to correct the record. If you are looking for a collaborative partner focused on preventative root-cause medicine, or if you have a complex situation requiring meticulous chart accuracy and coordination, I highly recommend seeking out a dedicated holistic or integrative provider outside of this facility.
