Dr. Ashley Fowler, MD

I had a tubal ligation with Dr. Fowler in 2019 because I have a genetic connective tissue disorder and shouldn’t have more kids. She was going to take my tubes out completely but never gave the specific name of the procedure or let me know it isn’t what my insurance covered 100%. I even called my insurance prior to my post surgical appointment because I received a bill for the down payment and was under the assumption it was completely covered. They called and left a message with my provider but “nobody received it”. I had to change the procedure in scheduling after already having my pre surgery consultation with my doctor so nothing was explained to me about the new procedure. Apparently they used Filshie clips instead of cutting and cauterizing my tubes. I ended up pregnant almost a year later, had two sets of labs, never received the results (which told them I was no longer pregnant), started having a miscarriage over the weekend with no idea that it was a miscarriage and not a… result of an ectopic rupture. Called Monday and spoke to the nurse who gave me zero information and said she’d call back. They called me right before they closed and I was on a virtual appointment and couldn’t answer. Left a message with no information and when I called back they were closed. After 3 calls Tuesday I finally received a call from the nurse letting me know about the labs from Thursday but with no follow up instructions or appointment information. I will be changing doctors due to the highly unprofessional way this entire situation was handled. I hope this review helps someone avoid making the mistake of using this practice or Dr. Fowler.
