Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I value those rare moments when you can see genuine happiness on someone's face. I chose to pursue a career in medicine, neurosurgery in particular, because there is nothing better than seeing the joy on someone's face when hope is given, functionality is restored, and lives are changed or even saved.What I want my patients to know about me:Finances should not dictate who receives care nor should we base our contributions to society on monetary gifts alone. All too often, financial generosity is seen as the only way to make a meaningful impact on someone's life. When my Dad was killed unexpectedly, I searched for ways that I could positively contribute to society that wouldn't simply involve monetary gifts. I want my patients to know that about me.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:My favorite hobbies are always outside! I'm a beekeeper, so in the summertime I'm routinely checking up on my bees, gardening both flowers and vegetables, …and taking daily walks or hikes with my great dane, Daphne. As fall and winter approach I enjoy canning, hunting and reading. I am passionate about experiences, so when time allows I also enjoy traveling with my family and finding ways to learn.
