Dr. Ashok Kumar Bansal, MD

iv seen 6+ Dr. in the last year and a half and his is the only one to actually read my file and have any understanding, the rest just wanted to give me the standard SSRI's till i got 'better' and quit saying there was a problem. best Dr Iv ever worked with

Dr. Bansal is great to work with!

Avoid at all costs. I saw him to figure out what I can do to help with my depression and whatever else I may have. He then brings up an extremely traumatic event that had nothing to do with my visit and throws me completely off guard. I came in for what was currently happening in my life. Not something that happened over 8 years ago. He then asks what type of meds I want. "I can get you this, or this, what do you want to be on" I told him that I didn't know what I needed to be on, I just need help and to find out what's going on with me. Sent me on my way because I didn't want to take all the drugs he was offering.

MR.Bansal dismissed me as a patient after I had missed ONE appointment. There's a reason he was the soonest available "doctor" when I requested the appointment. After asking around about Bansal, I found he has a very bad reputation, im appauled that Altru employes him, please avoid him at all costs. (Fortunately I can say that I have had great experiences with other psychiatrists besides Bansal at Altru)

Refused to treat me

Barely looked at me during the appointed, didn't listen much less answer questions. Psychiatry of all fields should involve lots of communication and he did very little. It also felt as though he was very judgmental instead of understanding which made me feel much worse after the appointment. I have zero confidence in his diagnosis or prescription after the (very short) appointment with him.

He made me feel so much better and I love going to see him!

do not use this doctor....he over medicates!!!!!
