Dr. Ashok Kumar Sinha, MD

Absolutely love Doc Sinha! He’s been my primary care physician for 12+ years, and has literally saved my life several times by sending me to the ER against my own wishes. Each time I learned my situation was much more dire than I anticipated, yet it was exactly what he suspected when sending me there. (I was in my 30s, so it wasn’t his commonsense sending me the ER, it was his medical expertise & experience, both of which I’m now grateful for). When less dramatic health issues are occurring with me, he’s simply one of those doctors who values my personal opinions just as much as he values his professional medical opinions. He listens to me and hears what I have to say prior to making any decisions related to my health. He’s also not afraid to admit when he’s not entirely sure of something; in that case he’ll just keep communication open until he is sure. I HOPE HE NEVER RETIRES, lol.

I was referred by a co-worker to this doctor as a primary care physician when mine retired. I am already being treated by other specialists, just need a regular prescription for blood pressure medication. Walking into this doctor's office, it would appear as though you are about to hold court with the Wizard of Oz. The red flags were everywhere. The office staff have been trashed on this site as being rude, I did not have that experience. HOWEVER, I did observe an elderly female patient being spoken to in a condescending manner, and I was embarrassed for her. The waiting room has Warnings posted all around the reception window-which include the following threatening messages-do NOT try to get medication before your prescription is 30 days, do NOT assault or verbally abuse staff or the police will be called (hmmm ?!), you will NOT be seen by the doctor if you do not pay in cash, etc. etc. My experience was this-I am advised immediately of my co-pay, I offered a debit card, and was told… cash only. Ok -(I guess I should have read the warning! I started to search my wallet, and while finding a $10 bill, I was instructed to go down the street to an ATM or reschedule). I paid and waited. I was quickly called and brought into a small office where I was weighed and told that the doctor would see me soon. I sat there for 20 minutes. I was then ushered into the next room. The assistant opened the door and quickly closed it behind me. There was a very well dressed Indian man seated behind an impressive desk. He did not get up to greet me, but rather, motioned that I sit beside him, in a chair behind his desk. I found this weird but went with it. There was a patient/medical bed off to the side of the desk (not accessible, and never used in my few visits). He asked me to explain why I was there, I stated that I needed BP meds. After that, it was all about him. He made racist remarks about every other doctor and urgent care nurse practitioner in the area, while touting himself as the epitome of a physician. As he spoke, he looked me up and down and I wondered when I would be examined or if he would ask more about my medical history. There were literally 5 different prescription pads on his desk. He wrote me a prescription for my BP medication and asked -do you need anything? I said-nothing, that is all I need. He dismissed me with the prescription and I asked him if he shouldn't have taken my blood pressure to confirm if the medication was in fact warranted. He said, oh yes, yes- I should check your BP. He took my BP, which was elevated, because I was extremely nervous about the incredibly weird scene I was in. He then took out a stethoscope and asked me to breathe in and out. He lifted the back of my blouse (definitely not required), and finished the "exam". I left and reluctantly made another appointment for 3 months out. The next time I went, it was even more weird. The man has cataracts, cannot see written notes, and questioned me as to my reason for the visit. (I can't stress what a weird scene it is!!) I responded and he again asked what I "need". 5 prescription pads scattered across his desk. I stated that I just need BP prescription. He took my BP while asking me why I came to his office. I reminded him that my physician retired. He upped my prescription because it was elevated. I was completely creeped out by his odd behavior. To say this man is incompetent is an understatement. His office is an obvious front. He does not have a nurse on staff. His examination room is his weird office with a huge desk and he never stands or attends to you in any medical capacity. He doesn't refer to any notes and never requested my medical history from my retired physician.The individuals in the waiting room are different than any other medical office I have been in. I had other appointments that were weird to say the least. The bottom line is-this is not a normal medical office. It appears as though they could pack it up overnight and be gone in the morning. I have a new doctor and I would never recommend this practice. He is creepy and obviously has an agenda that does not include treating patients. Do not go there.

Ashok Sinha MD is a good Doctor in the complex healthcare field. Board Certified with his many years of Internal Medicine thanks for All you do for all you care.

Phone rep Janice is VERY VERY Rude to our member and I would Never ref a member to this office for that reason along she was so Rude.

When are we going to start putting are American doctors through and leave them in there own country where the opioids Go back to India and save your own people they bring there whole family get ssi and go home America is a joke.MR TRUMP stop that please leave the country the money stays here. I would give him a zero .OH one more thing e can barely English util I said I don't know what u are saying then it got better ,I think is smarter babbling India words to make him look smarter he has two offces

First of all, you need to deal with Mrs. Janice in the front office. She is very rude, cuts you off when you are still talking, pushes you out the door, when you are not done asking her what you need to know. I overheard her on the telephone laughing a how heavy a patient is and that they should realize why they need to be on so much medication. I really do not think Mrs.Janice had any room to make such comments; She is pretty large herself. I would like to add that all the statements aforementioned above in other reviews pertaining to Dr. Sinha's care, money and insurance, knowledge as a doctor, bedside manner etc. are all very, very true and I could not agree more with the other patients that gave him one star. If I could give him no stars, I would. It is obviously all about the money, Dr. Sinha and Mrs. Janice see. their patients like this $$$ How sad is that????.....make sure you read all of the reviews and pay close attention to the reviews that have only one star. In my oppion… and experience with this Dr.they are 100% accurate.

Dr. Ashok Sinha has been my husband's and my family doctor since moving to the area about 3-1/2 yrs ago. He has a Great bedside manner.. & all around, he's a compassionate caring doctor who has ALWAYS taken his time to listen to us and answer our questions, and NEVER makes us feel rushed.. but equally important is his thoroughness, and very evident to us his is abundant knowledge as a doctor of internal medicine. Going to his office is always a pleasant experience as his front desk staff have always been so professional and friendly and accommodating.. We're very glad we found him when we moved here and we do not hesitate for a moment in recommending him.

I have been a patient for at least 5 years. Dr Sinha is very knowledgeable, attentive and patient doctor. He listens to everything I have to say and explains everything very well. He has convenient office hours and it is easy to get an appointment. A few of my coworkers are also patients of Dr Sinha and they like him as well. I would recommend him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sinha for 5 years since moving into this area. In my experience with him I have found him to be caring, courteous, prompt. He always takes time to discuss any concerns I may have and we review the results of my bloodwork each visit. His staff is efficient and very pleasant to work with. I am very pleased with the care I receive from Dr. Sinha.

Dr, Singh is an excellent diagnostician with a real grasp of the needs of the older patients. He is a credit to his profession. He is a doctor that one would freely recommend.
