Dr. Ashwin Laxmirai Nanavati, MD

This is the worst doctor I have ever met and I have been in the medical profession for over 30 years. When he filled in for another doctor to care for me while I was at Howard County General Hospital, he developed you no care plan for me. You told me that I could not always have what I wanted! He allowed me to sit in a hospital bed for 25 days without being able to hold food and water. No nutrients were given to me by IV and I needed to be transfused at one point. A long story short, after being sent home and going back to the emergency room, dr. Nanavati refused to show up. When I asked him to please transfer me to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, he told me just go there just drive! I insisted he do the paperwork to transfer me properly by ambulance as I was not capable of driving and he knew it! He is not a man who has a moral compass! Finally 8 hours later at Johns Hopkins - it took him 7 hours to do the paperwork - A young residence simply gave me a different medication… for nausea. Within an hour I was drinking medication and the next day I was eating. I was discharge from Johns Hopkins 4 days later finally stable simply because I was given a different medication. Dr. Nanavati only gave me drugs that were on his formulary so he could get a kickback. He would not give me the drug I needed. I remember arguing with him while in the hospital about an antibiotic that was not working for me. He didn't even know what antibiotics I can take as I was allergic to most of them. He was going to give me one that I was allergic to! Thank God I was awake! He's an arrogant man it doesn't have any respect for human life. I used to be an avid biker. When we least from Johns Hopkins, because of the lack of care I received from dr. Nanavati, I was still at Macy aided and required physical therapy in the home. Imagine! Imagine not being able to hold food or water for 25 days! That's what Dr Nanavati did for me! I was so emaciated that my legs looked like arms! Had he kept me at Howard County General any longer, I would have died. This man does not deserve to be a doctor. This man is the quintessential outrage. This man takes a managed care to the nth degree. It's not about your life. It's about money for him.

Best Doc I ever had...He may be Retired or Semi-Retired by Now... •• I was born with a Malrotated Colon. I've had GI Issues my entire, never pain ir symptom free 40- years-- I HAD SURGERIES in 2008-09 w/Dr Nan.// **I've had @ 8 yrs with reduced GI symptoms.. •• I'll travel @100 miles just to see him or his Associates .. but at least I'll have hope for treatment. He is the ONLY Dr. who has ever treated me with Respect as a Patient. He had a True knowledge of my problems & willingness to Treat me. This is the only DR who treated my Conditions, I saw. 15+ Drs. w/very little or no Treatment.. At least I got "Some years" of relief; thanks to his efforts--His staff always got back to me whenever I had any Questions/Concerns.
