Dr. Asim Mir Hameeduddin, MD

Both my husband and I are seeing him as our internist and we’re so happy we found him. He’s very knowledgable, caring, compassionate, asks good questions, listens very well, has great bedside manner. Very fine doctor.

Compassionate. Offers realistic options for treatment. Excellent communication.

Very dismissive behavior. I went in for hip & lower back pain. He overlooked my medical history and made a quick assumption. Spent very little time. Never sent me to get imaging of the area. I ended up having an ovarian cyst that ruptured. Was miserable for weeks. When I tried to complain I found out he made up that I fell in my medical records.

Dr. Hameeduddin is the most thorough, knowledgeable internist I have found during my 10 years in Chicago. He has been my and my husband's physician for 2 years now, and we both have nothing but praise for him. He was even able to properly diagnose an issue I've had for 15 years, which had previously been misdiagnosed by 9 other physicians. My health and well-being have improved dramatically because of him.

I actually have a negative experience with Dr. Asim Hameeduddin. I think he is incompetent. He is friendly, but I question his level of knowledge in internal medicine. I came with the cold that wouldn't go away, assuming I might have a sinusitis. He said the following - "well, if you think you have it, you have it!". Then since I was breastfeeding, he asked me "Do you know if this drug is safe for you?". Then he pulled out the book to search for the drug, saying he actually should know that, since a month ago he went with the same scenario, and "haha" he forgot... What can I say, he didn't check the nose to be sure I have a sinus infection, didn't ask questions, just listen to my lungs and that's pretty much it. This is the second time I run into him, since my primary doctor was out of office, and I'm convinced - he's the worst doctor. If you ask him any medical or (why/what - type) question, he won't know the answer, and will be fishing around.

Very thorough, good bedside manner, answers all questions, and aggressively tackles health issues. I highly recommended!

Incredible doctor...just referred him to my family...caring, conscientious, and funny...all in one. Made me feel comfortable during the visit....spent time with me also which is a first.
