Dr. Asimah Sharif Qayyum, MD

I’ve been a patient of Dr Q for 5 years. Shes great until you really need a Doctor for a serious issue. She would rather send out a referral than treat the condition (even on a temp basis). It will take me 1-2 months to get into an appointment with a specialist. Trust me, I called. Dr Q wants the new specialist to prescribe my meds but while I am waiting for my appointment I am dealing with panic attacks, ptsd, and major anxiety issues. I am dealing with all this with no anxiety meds because she won’t help me. Not to mention it took nearly 2 weeks for her to return my message regarding increased anxiety and she won’t return my phone calls with me asking for help. Seriously stay away.

She do not let husband back in the exam room

Staff have no sense of what managed care is. Practices run like this are the reason health care is so expensive. The practice won’t give a patient an appointment if they are sick and in need of care if they are not “established”. Alisha said to go to hospital and then hung up on me after I asked her what her name was. When I called back the phone rang at least 2 minutes before Yvonne answered the phone. Wow!

Previous patient due to problems, with especially office manager, inabily to speak wth Dr. Quuyam, and dispotes with insurance compnay. Othwesiwe, very happy with physician’s services.

Would recommend her in a heartbeat.

Office staff does not get any type of request processed within reasonable amount of time. A patient has to keep calling back over and over in order to get any type of paperwork or referral processed. DAYS and WEEKS go by before getting what you need. Even in-person requests to not speed the process.

She is a good primary care doctor but her office leaves a lot to be desired. Never s pleasure making an appointment or obtaining info from them. She seems overbooked and rushed all the time. She has a great personality and bedside manner but lacks in personal interactions. I would recommend her but not her office.
