Dr. Asma Afridi

As I am able to finally put down my Bath-Size Crying Towel regarding a call yesterday stating Dr. Asma Afridi is leaving the Ellington ECHN practice next month on August 15th, 2025! Lovely Miss Janet from Manchester Hospital Central Scheduling called me yesterday saying my September appointment would have to be canceled, rescheduled, something. Ironically I just set-up this appointment, modifying it with Miss Janet a couple days ago. Prior to Dr Asma Afridi I had the most Superb doctor in my life, Dr Jacqueline Russell who left about 4 years ago to move to Calais Maine after her Residency concluded. Then, I had a HORRIBLE doctor for a year @ ECHN Hartford Road. Scarring my back for Life among other disasters! Fortunately after approximately 25 screenings on my part I was able to locate Dr. Afridi. Interestingly, she was in the same Medical Class with Dr Russell and has proven to be equally Superb! It has already been stated in my observance of reviews how caring & working in a… respectful Doctor/Patient Team environment Dr Afridi is. As well as a doctor who treats the "Whole" patient: Body, Mind, & Spirit as any qualified professionals should do! Dr Afridi has been invaluable to my health and in my opinion has saved my life! I have made a selection and I can only pray the next young woman doctor is going to perform like these other two (2) highly skilled professionals have! All of my other clinical professionals and Specialists have been advised by me of my excellent doctor. Many have indicated that they know these young women or have known of them so it's clear that in professional clinical circles these women, Dr Afridi, stand out as such positives in a sea of negatives! Dr Afridi Will & Can be Trusted to deliver and treat you with the utmost respect as well as listening to your Holistic ideas, resistance to "Pill & Drug" solutions or information in order to try to arrive at a positive conclusion for your medical condition or issue. We MUST be able to work in a Completely open and honest relationship with our doctors for our lives! Actually, I'm NOT surprised to hear Dr Afridi is leaving that ECHN Ellington Office! I'll share a couple of long-time "Crazy American" sayings to hopefully illuminate the Poor conditions I personally observed & heard my doctor has been forced to operationally work under: " How can you soar with the Eagles when you're surrounded by Turkeys?" "Be a Peacock in a Flock of Pigeons!" SOAR..... dear Dr. Afridi on National Emoji Day!

Incompetent , lack of care. Insulting messages. Badgering. Not recommended.

Dr Afridi is an exceptional Dr. However one staff member in particular should be lef go. I won’t mention any names because I am not the type to hurt anyone the way she hurt me. I called one day for help and 1 receptionist was speaking with me while another one blasted me in the background telling me there was nothing more they can for me and on and on. No compassion, poor manner, uncaring and unfit for her job. I am a retired medical receptionist and never ever did I speak to anyone that way whilst believe me I heard it all but I contained my professional demeanor. She hurt my feelings by making me feel like I was beyond help. WRONG!!! Also whatever happened to triage nurses and other Doctors to assign to l you if your Dr isn’t in. That does not exist here. If I didn’t think so highly of Dr Afridi I would go elsewhere. If this staff member thinks her job is so tough, my last job was at a hospice and I struggled not to cry all day and tried my best to help the patients only to get… yelled at by the nurses for bothering them but that didn’t stop me because I truly wanted to help the patient’s because as it should be, I am a very compassionate person

I'm a patient of Dr Asma Afridi and I cannot say enough positive things about my experience as a new patient. I've avoided the doctor for years because of past experiences, but no more. Dr. Afridi is so incredibly patient and supportive of her patients. I've never been so happy to visit my doctor. I'm very grateful to have found this practice and appreciate both the ease of Interaction with the front office staff as well as the clinical expertise of Dr Afridi and her team!
