Dr. Asma Syed Khan, DO

Our prior pediatrician retired, and we chose Dr. Khan because she was part of OSF. It took months to get an appointment with Dr. Khan. In June, I tried to get an appointment before school started and couldn't. I had to pay an immediate care visit for a sports physical because Dr. Khan had no openings. Ultimately, we did get an appointment months later, only to have Dr. Khan's office cancel it and reschedule weeks later. Finally, when we went to the appointment, we waited 30 minutes, and it was only after I complained, that we were shown to the room. The nurse took vitals, apologized for the wait, and said she would be right outside the door if we needed her. After we waited another 30 minutes, I went looking for the nurse. She was nowhere to be found. We waited a total of one hour and twenty minutes and never saw the doctor. It was well after 5:00 p.m. It was so unprofessional that it undermined any confidence in Dr. Khan as my children's doctor. We ended up leaving and… will not be returning.

If I could give a negative five I would. She brushed off our concerns and was worried about something that didn't need worrying about. Then later we found out he did have liver problems which could've gotten worse if we didn't go to another doctor to find out. Keep your kids safe and go to someone that actually cares about parents concerns

We had our first appointment with Dr. Khan today for checkup of my two daughters (4 & 6). I would say she was extremely professional but still totally grounded. She was courteous and interested in knowing all about the girls habits, diet, etc. and made great recommendations to help them. She spoke nicely to them and did a through checkup. She made sure we were not walking away with questions and also walked out with us all the way to the waiting area. I was so impressed and glad that we have found ourselves a good pediatrician.

She treated my husband SO poorly when he took our daughters in for their checkup. Asked him ridiculous questions such as how do you discipline your children, and then asked him to leave the room while they did their exam on our daughters. WHAT?! He is their father! Would you do that to a mother?? You don't think he doesn't see them when their at home? I mean how stupid can you be?? She made my husband feel embarrassed and my daughters confused. I don't know where she got a degree from, but keep that in mind when you choose a pediatrician for your doctor. The university they attended is likely training them to be this idiotic!
