Dr. Attila Becsey, MD

I've spent four months, three hospital visits, that last one last over 10 weeks at Tampa General, trying to identify and then help my mother through critical health issues, that were very subjective in nature as the understanding of her condition unfolded. Dr. Becsey was the key person, placed in our path throughout our time at TGH, who helped guide my understanding and therefore, walked me through difficult decisions regarding my mother's care. I encountered hundreds of helpful, compassionate, caring people, who grew to love my mom, but no one gave me the the full comprehensive leadership that included sound medical education and advice on things to consider, demonstrating such sensitivity to my mother as a valuable human being and us as a family. He respected the tough choices and the dilemmas we face along the way, how the answers were not clear and easy ones. He treated our case individually, considering facts and statistics, but always factoring in the individual and fighting… for her wishes and what her spirit seemed to demonstrate along the way, when others may have 'written her off.' A few days before her discharge, he communicated with the ICU nurse- this is going to be a success story- a 'happy ending' and emphasized how important it was to treat her like 'precious china'- her health was still quite fragile and we were trying to get her home in as healthy of a condition as possible, with no more complications. I told her that night as we prayed... that doctor spoke about her value, he always treated her and me that way, when many others have made me feel more like they saw my mom as, 'that's an old car, don't invest too much, it's not going to last too long and it's not worth much time or trouble.' I can't really express what an angel I feel Dr Becsey really is... I'm thankful he leads others and that many can learn from him. I'm thankful I was able to express my gratefulness and thankfulness to him personally before we left. I will continue to shout praises about him, because you don't find many doctor's with his insight, skill, knowledge and compassion- willing to take time to invest like he did for us.

Dr. Becsey is caring and spents a lot of time with us explaining my mother's condition. All the hospital staff in ICU rave about his skills.
