Dr. Atul Prakash, MD

We met Dr. Prakash fve years ago in Hackensack Hospital. My husband was admitted & Dr. Prakash was called in. He diagnosed my husband with Atrial Fibulation. We were both very frightened and that was when we knew he was different from alot of doctors. He was so comforting & calmed us down right away with his knowledge. Dr. Prakash has been taking care of my husband since then. We feel Dr. Prakash has been very instrumental in keeping him stable & feeling good. Two years ago he received a pacemaker that has really helped him. Dr. Prakash is kind & caring & treats us like family. He always listens and never rushes us. That is a very rare trait in the medical profession.

Doctor was very attentive and informative with my situation, but the staff showed little concern with my appointment for a procedure which took a week to send to my insurance company. I always felt rushed when speaking on the phone with the staff. They need some instruction on how to deal with patients. The doctor needs a new staff.

Doctor Prakash is very knowledgeable. He is highly recommended. He makes the patient understand the problem,. Describe the whole situation very clearly. His staff is very carrying and nice .

Just plain GREAT

I have had heart issues for 18 years now, I have a defibrillator implanted for 8 years. Another doctor preformed the first surgery without conducting an EP study first. Within the last 2 years my defibrillator has been firing off with no rhyme or reason. It would go off and not return my heart to its normal rhythm after firing. Original doctor told us that it was probably the defibrillator was reaching its end of life. As you can imagine..this answer did not sit well with my wife or myself. You were referred to Dr. Prakash to get to the bottom of issues. Without hesitation after our first visit, his office worked rapidly to schedule an EP study to get an "inside" view as to what could be the problem. Dr. Prakash explained the seriousness of my heart issues and scheduled another procedure to correct my defibrillator firing unnecessarily. Again his office wasted no time in scheduled Ablation procedure as soon as possible. The procedure was an absolute success. Dr. Prakash… explained that all should be well now and when the time arrived that my defibrillator would need to be replaced he would add an extra wire to help monitor my arrhythmia. My phrase for Dr. Prakash isâ?¦â??he is to the electronics of the heart as Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy are to the blues and Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix are to Rock~n~Roll!! The pull and bending of wires he places is a gift the Lord gave him. Dr. Prakash not only heals with his great mind and hands, but with his heart and love of health along with the people that are fortunate enough to experience him as there Dr. God Bless him and his staff and always rock~n~roll!!!

I was a patient of Dr. Prakash from 1998 to 2010. As my heart progressed to ultimate transplant, he was there every step of the way like my own family - he helped me sustain and push back my transplant for more than ten years. I am alive because of him - He would come to the emergency ward if I ended up in a situation in the middle of the night. Timely guidance and referral to a transplant hospital saved me. He is very accessible and will always spend whatever time you need to discuss your health concerns. You will never find a more physician in his field. I recommend him to anyone.
