Dr. Atul M Shah, MD

Dr Shah is very rude and made me feel so uncomfortable. He kept asking me the same question over and over again but in different ways and the way he asked the questions was condescending! I've been going to him for 6 months and nothing has changed. I'm in the process of finding a new doctor. As for his secretary which is the most rude person I think I've EVER met in my life!!! I truly dislike this women! She made me feel as if I was bothering her when I needed to make an appointment. She treated me as if I was some piece of garbage on the side of the road. I would not recommend going to Dr Shah.

I never felt more humiliated in my life. I made an appointment for 3:45 after work rushed to get there but the doc had left and the receptionist at the counter was rude as anyone could imagine. She told me I imagined that I made the appointment and that I never had one. after I asked if there was ever an appointment and she said no I realized that the doc wanted to go home rather than wait for my appointment (I Guess) anyway rather than offering to make a new appointment she criticized me I would rather not see anyone than be humiliated by a receptionist like that again I recommend you try a more professional place I found that river point behavioral has a long long list of complaints and criminal complaints I would stay far away

Dr. Atul was actively rude to other patients in the waiting room. After the visit, we had an emergency and it took him four days to return a phone call. Before I could finish speaking, Dr. Atul hung up on me, mid sentence (about 25 seconds into the call) and said he would just get the information from the hospital. His PA, Mike, was terribly rude and sarcastic in a subsequent phone call. When I told him that we had had trouble getting a follow up appointment (their office cancelled us twice, and one time, allowed us to show up to an office with no doctor or PA present), he said, "That's not my problem, I've got a full schedule, talk to the office staff" and literally dropped the phone receiver.

Dr. Shah came highly recommended by his peers but I was very disappointing. When I finally saw the doctor after waiting an hour he proceeded to check his cell phone 3 times through out the course of our time together. He also did not allow for a complete thought to be projected but instead constantly interrupted. After addressing this with him, he proceeded to be condescending. It is as if he thinks he is doing me a great favor and that I was an inconvenience to him; also that he was the authority and any other input may be invalid (I call this God Syndrome). I will not see him again nor would I recommend him to those I know and care about.

Times change along w people. I knew this Physician 30 yrs ago. He was kind, caring and focused on his practice. Unfortunately I have observed unfortunate changes in his practice. This includes his office staff. Yes Once upon a Time he was one of the best. I wish him well.

Dr. Shah has listened to me, assessed my needs as a patient, managed my up and down episodes, treated my illness properly, and has also treated me with kindness and like a regular person all the way. I highly regard Dr. Atul Shah and would recommend him to everyone. He is genuine and knows his stuff. I have no complaints about him whatsoever. I commend him in his excellent service and contributions to the field of psychiatry.

After waiting over an hour to see me for my aniexty.Within 5 minutes he said I was bipolar. I was shocked he gave me A medicine and told me to keep taking it no matter what. I took it once and o my lord I thought I was going crazy. And tossed it in the garbage after wasting 20 dollars on perscription and over a hundred on appointment. He is literally a mr no it all and very rude. If I could I would love to punch him in his face and knock some sence into him. I for a fact know he has ruined other lives he treats your pockets not patients. He should be ashamed but I'm sure he is reading these and saying those people are all crazy. But hey it's a business to him. People I have been to countless doctors he's the worse. There is no magic pill to make u feel better but if there is there r always consequences damage to the body and withdraws suck. But I tell u this really imagine u won the lottery or a loved one that has passed has come back to see you.Imagine really hard for a minute now did… it take a pill to make u feel happy. No it's in a chemical stimulated by emotion in your brain.remember that a bunch of pic of dead presidents wnt make u happy U will make u happy.so find that emotion and keep it cause u have it for free in your head just remember your a millionaire good luck and god bless

Before I received care from Dr. Shah I had seem a several different doctors. I saw him during a crisis situation, where I had just tried to take my life. He told me exactly how I was feeling. I was amazed! Not only was he right, but he also told me that I had been misdiagnosed for years. He is not one of thouse doctors that give you pills either.

Dr.Shah is the most competent psychiatrist I have ever worked with. As a nurse I am able to see how he interacts with patients, thoroughly evaluates all the healthcare information availabe to him, makes accurate diagnoses and treats patients, healthcare staff and the diagnosed illness with respect. I would recommend Dr.Shah to any of my family members without hesitation.
