Dr. did not want to do a proper follow up with us on a very important eye issue that my child has. Staff is rude.

I had retinal detachment surgery 31 years ago with another doctor at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He was also top notch. I had cataract surgery 6 years ago with this doctor. I also have Glaucoma since 2005 and get treated with another excellent doctor. For my cataract surgery, I only had 2 options, it can go well or not good at all. There was no middle ground for my case. I waited until my vision deteriorated to have the cataract surgery and thanks to the hands and work of Dr. Berrocal, I can see. I owe her my sight, well everything, she means a lot to me. She is a excellent doctor.

This doctor risked having my eight year old son with ROP who was able to see, loose all of his sight completely to perform a procedure that was TOTALLY unnecessary. She had us go back time, surgery after surgery with no successful outcome. I regret deeply going to bascom Palmer TO GET AN ANNUAL EYE REPORT. It was the worst nightmare of my life. I thought I was the only one, seems others have had the same experience . I felt so vulnerable waiting all day in waiting room just to see her. And not having anything to eat all day long with a child with detach retina in a lobby. This hospital has NO compassion for the patient and family members. Horrible horrible experience!

Dr. Berrocal, by far, is the most compassionate and caring doctor I have ever met. My child has FEVR and she has seen him for over 5 years. She never hesitates to contact us and follow-up at any time of the day. Her assistants are friendly and professional. The only drawback is since she is so good at what she does, she is very popular consequently there is often a long wait to see her.She has a unique combination of exceptional skills, medical and personal.
