I want to start by acknowledging that I spoke with the owner regarding my experience, and she was very kind and receptive to my feedback. However, I feel it is important to share my journey for others seeking specific care from Audrey McGinnis Stepka with Evergreen Functional Collective. From my first appointment with Audrey (now only realizing she’s trained as an NP, not homeopathic care), I expressed a high level of urgency regarding my mold treatment. I fully understand that healing from mold exposure isn't an overnight process and can often take up to six months, which I was perfectly comfortable with. However, after five months under Audrey's care, I felt no changes or improvements whatsoever. I eventually discovered through my own research that she was treating me for a complex, two-year long CIRS protocol instead of the targeted mold treatment I had explicitly requested from her from the beginning. This shift in diagnosis and the extensive timeline of labs and appointments… were never clearly communicated to me and I feel like I lost trust. While Audrey is an NP, she appears very new to the homeopathic field, and the lack of transparency regarding this long-term roadmap was very disappointing. Communication was also a major hurdle. Many of my messages went unanswered in the portal, requiring me to follow up with Audrey multiple times. I FULLY respect family time on the weekends but even when I messaged her during the regular work week, no response or a very lagged response. In one instance, I sent two messages in one day to get clarification on a treatment question. Not only did she not respond, but when I followed up a day later, she actually asked me to "refrain from sending more than one message a day" because they would get lost in her inbox. As a patient, I found it very difficult to be told I couldn’t ask a follow-up question due to their system's limitations. Additionally, the portal is difficult to use and her appointment summaries were confusing. When I spoke to the owner she mentioned that because they aren't a concierge service, a 72-hour response time is the standard. Even within those parameters, the frequent lack of response made it very difficult to manage my health especially when trying to find relief from mold exposure. While I understand health practices need to bring in business, I felt strung along and like my care was being made into a 2 year mold healing process without my consent which could have more easily taken 6 months. Effective root-cause care should produce incremental markers of progress. Spending 5 months with zero symptomatic improvement—only to find out the 'plan' was actually 2 years long—suggests a lack of clinical direction. To put things in perspective: after only two weeks with a new provider, I already feel better than I did during the entire five months spent with Audrey McGinnis Stepka. While I appreciate the owner's willingness to listen, I cannot recommend Audrey at this time if you are looking for effective, transparent, and responsive mold treatment at this time. After giving feedback to the owner, I’m hoping Audrey will be more transparent with treatment plans for mold exposure for future patients and not try to string patients along into an extended and unnecessary treatment plan with very slow communication.
