Audrey Lynn Peckham

I "saw" Audrey last winter. I was visiting friends in Rome when my knee swelled to the point I could not walk on it. I went to Rome Hospital ER, where when I walked in to register, I informed the woman at the desk that I needed my knee aspirated, as had been done by my physician in Florida, as well as the ER at my local hospital. I was Triage by the nurses and to to wait, which I did. When I was finally called to see the provider, Audrey, I sat on the patient table and she stood across the room from me and said, "I'm really sorry. Had I seen your paperwork sooner, I would have told you we don't aspirate knees here, but I've sent a referral to the local orthopedic group and they'll call you." She asked me what I normally do for me knee and I told her I ice, elevate, compress and take an anti-inflammatory. She told me that's what she would recommend and she sent me on my way. If I was in that room 5 minutes, I might be over estimating. She never once looked at my knee or… approached me. I then received a bill for her "services" for over $600. I don't know how she has the audacity to bill me so much when she barely said hello. She was nice, but that is all I can say about her.
