Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I've had a love of medicine and the art of caring since childhood. My career aspiration to be an NP was solidified while participating on a medical mission trip during high school. I began my nursing career as an ER/trauma nurse followed by exploring the country as a travel nurse. The role of the nurse practitioner allows me to blend the nursing approach and art of compassion with the autonomy and science of medical practice. What I want my patients to know about me:It's a privilege to provide care for individuals and families in some of their most vulnerable times. I approach medicine from a holistic view, treating the entire individual with health promotion and disease prevention as my primary focus. Its my goal to help patients achieve healthy lifestyles and provide compassionate care during times of illness. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:Physical activity and enjoying the outdoors are some of my most enjoyable activities. I …have a love of anything that keeps me moving. You can find me running especially on the trails, hiking, spinning, yoga, and dancing. An indoor field hockey league and skiing keeps me busy during the winter months while I love to follow the sun to the beach in the summer. My most enjoyable time is spent with my daughter, family and friends.
