Dr. Augusto Mayor Quilon III, MD

If I could give 0 Stars I would. I have been having major issues lately with my RA. Since I have been in remission for years, I needed to get established with a new doctor. I missed an appointment in 2022 because I had a sick child. I did call that day to let them know. Fast forward to 2023. The staff from Baptist called me the morning of my appointment to tell me he was refusing to see me because I had "no showed" an appointment before. I offered to pre-pay because I have been waiting over a month for this appointment. They said his advice to me was to find a doctor Downtown. I am absolutely baffled. While I now have to start the process over of finding a Rheumatologist, I am having flare-ups constantly. He has no empathy and no kindness.

I was referred to this Dr. by my general practitioner. They made me wait for 45 minutes which was upsetting. He ordered labs to determine if I had Psoriatic Arthritis. I expected there to be an "here are your options" discussion about medications. Got NONE OF THAT! He just handed me a pamphlet for Humira! I am NOT GOING BACK! He does NOT LISTEN TO YOU! Not sure if he doesn't understand English, or just doesn't care, but not going back to find out!

I have seen Dr. Quilon for over nine years. He has always spent time, listened to me and properly explained everything. His tests are thorough and he explains all results clearly. I recommend him and suspect some of these comments other to be exaggerated. I have never experienced anything other than the utmost professionalism with Dr. Quilon and his staff. Thank you Dr. Quilon.

Both my husband and I are patients of Dr. Quilon. He really listens to us, and he has helped us out with our painful arthritis. He made time in his busy schedule to help my husband out today. A great diagnostician.

I am shocked when I read the reviews of Dr. Quilon. I changed from another rheumatologist to Dr. Quilon and could not be happier. He is absolutely brilliant and extremely thorough. He answers all my questions it great detail. I could not be happier with Dr. Quilon as my new rheumatologist.

I've been to see him twice. He's the only doc I've met in the Practice, but both doc and office suffer from poor professionalism. On first visit, I kept wondering if he was the doctor or an assistant of some kind, because he didn't "seem" or "act" like a doctor. After following instructions to see several other docs for tests and labs, he had a front office worker call to tell me I might have blood cancer because of a protein level on one of my labs. Then the office worker called me back to explain that I might also NOT have cancer, but they were "being cautious". I'll see the oncologist next week for a professional assessment, b I went to see this doc for chronic pain -- particularly spine pain. In second visit, he tried to hard-sell me on knee injections to bolster the cartilage in my knees. I explained that my only knee pain is from a torn miniscus. He kept hard-sell the new, non-steroidal product and handed me a brochure. I explained I might want to try it St some future time,… but that I have an orthopedist I trust. Regardless, he got the procedure approved by Medicare, and had an office worker call me to schedule the procedure. I refused and explained. A couple of hours later, Dr. Quilon himself called sounding quite upset and trying to convince me because "You have no cartilage left in your knees." Even aft

This was one of the worst doctors that I have ever had. I was diagnosed by him for fibromyalgia and then he tells me that it is all in my head. The pain was getting worse and there was some time before I could see a pain management specialist. I needed some relief and after pressuring him, he called in a prescription that helped the pain for a brief time until I could see a specialist. That was the first visit and when I went back for a follow-up he told me that there was nothing else that he could do and he would see my in a year. I SAY NEVER AGAIN! He should be taken off of referral lists and relegated to those who are gluttons for punishment.

I visited Dr. Quilon before reading these the reviews. My experience with was almost the complete opposite of the reviews I read here. I can only think that he read these reviews and has changed his ways! I felt he did listen to me, he was concerned about my issues. He offered options to relieve my symptoms. I gave him 4 stars because I honestly thought he could be a little more decisive. I guess it is a fine line between too aggressive and not enough! I will be seeing him again.

Dr. Quinlon is one of the worst physicians I've ever encountered. He is uncaring, did not listen to anything I said and refused to do anything to help me. Unfortunately I wasted months trying to get an appointment and after several visits I am now having to start over with another rheumatologist. This doctor is a joke.

He decided in 10 seconds that I needed an antidepressant. Didn't hear a word I said. I'm a woman, losing my hair, and in pain. There would be something wrong with me if I wasn't depressed about it. I was referred to him because of blood tests which suggested a physical illness. If I wanted drugs, I would go to a psychiatrist or a street dealer. His report also suggested I see a dermatologist. I told him I had seen ten of them (in four different states) Apparently he didn't hear that either.
