Aura Marcela Torres, DDS
Aura Marcela Torres was born in Villavicencio, Colombia and attended San Martin University in Bogotá, graduating with honors in Dental Medicine in 1988.  After moving to the U.S. in 1990, she continued her studies in general and restorative dentistry, earning her license to practice dentistry in California in 1994.  Dr. Torres worked three years as an associate with a specialist in pediatric dentistry and ran the University of California Santa Cruz Dental Clinic for five years. Professional memberships include ADA (American Dental Association), CDA (California Dental Association) and MBDS (Monterey Bay Dental Society).
“I always wanted to be a dentist, from my early years growing up in Colombia.  My grandfather was a dentist, and several other family members were dentists and doctors.  It was my dream, my aspiration.”
In my practice, we combine a strong sense of business professionalism with warmth and personal caring.  My husband, Guido Diaz, …manages the business.  Guido and I travel frequently to Mexico to do charity dental work; our business also has a legacy of donating dental equipment to charitable organizations in the U.S. and South America.
We have three beautiful children, Nicole, Natalie and Nohora, who are proud of their parents for helping others, just as I was proud of my own grandfather.  Our family is extremely important to us, and so are our patients.   This sense of personal connection combined with professionalism is one of the many ways that our practice is unique.
It is so rewarding to be able to help people, whether giving relief from a painful tooth or improving someone’s smile.  I’m concerned about my patients as people as well as clients.  And I care about each one.
