Dr. Castrellon is simply wonderful. He is so caring, spends as much time with me as I need, answers all of my and my husband's questions and concerns with clear and comprehensive explanations. I have stage 4 triple negative breast cancer, which he understands so well, and I have been doing well in spite of it. I trust him 100%.....

I can't say enough about this wonderful doctor. His relaxed manner immediatly put me at ease as he answered my unending questions.The decision to begin chemo before surgery was explained to me thoroughly. Along with the wonderful support staff of nurses, scheduling and image center personnel, I knew I was in the right place and with the right doctor.

Dr. Castrellon is a professional, honest, and caring person. I am a new patient of his and have had lots of questions and concerns after being diagnosed with breast cancer. He and and his staff have been very knowledgeable and easy to reach when needed. Dr. Castrellon has excellent bedside manner and made me feel comfortable with his genuine, down-to-earth personality. I am a nurse and was diagnosed with Breast Cancer the day after my son's first birthday....I also had a 2.5 year old. When my world stopped, Dr. Castrellon picked it up and started to spin it again. To say I had a lot of questions and fear would be a complete understatement. Yet, he answered each one....even if I had asked it several times and couldn't remember the answer. He went over things I didn't know I should be asking, and made me feel empowered and informed with every decision I had to make. He went over each test, each number, each percentile. I felt my life had value and meaning to him, and I know that my peace of mind had a positive affect on how I coped with the situation. During the treatment, he was accessible for any concern or issue....and once in remission, he followed me with testing to ensure my confidence. Always to be noted is the way the chemo nurses interact with a doctor....and those nurses loved him, which says a lot about his character. If I hadn't… been a patient, I would probably want to work there! I just can't say enough about this wonderful man. While each cancer is different and each body reacts differently, I remain resolute that my care was tailored to my specific case and that this doctor saved my life....and gave my two babes a mother.

Dr. Castrellon was my husband oncologist for three years as he fought the battle of pancreatic cancer. Through this period of time there became a very special bond between Aurelio, Ben and myself. He was confident, honest, gentle, and straight forward about procedures and the ultimate outcome. He was greatly missed by us and other patients when he left Farlmington. In my eyes he would be highly recommended! We only wish him the very best for his future in oncology.

When first diagnosed, Dr. Castrellon took as much time as needed to explain my breast cancer and possible treatments / surgeries. He went above and beyond by contacting my son who is a radiologist and doesn't live locally. They had a lengthy conversation and not only did he give his professional advice but he made his informed therapy decisions after listening to our specific concerns. Every patient is different and I feel that this doctor takes the medical and emotional needs of the individual to heart.

I was diagnosed at the end of May with breast cancer and I felt like I was just given a death sentence. I saw a surgeon, who recommended I see an oncologist to start chemotherapy to shrink the tumor. I was referred to the breast cancer center at Memorial West and met with Dr. Castrellon. What I liked most about him was that he looked me in the eye and told me I was not going to die and that I was going to fight cancer. He took his time and explained the type of cancer I have, the treatments out there for it and the possible side effects. He answered all of questions and never treated me like a number. It's been almost a month since I started chemo and every time I needed him I have been able to reach him by communicating my concerns with the nurses and staff. The office staff has been awesome too together they make a great team . I'm not happy I'm going through this but Dr. Castrellon has made the process easier and bearable. If you need someone when going through this and don't… know where, come to see him!
