Summary

Dr. Austin Harris MD

Dr. Austin Harris is a board-certified cardiothoracic anesthesiologist, with a background in psychology. Even before beginning his current private practice, Dr. Harris was finding that ketamine, a rarely used anesthetic tool, could have profoundly positive outcomes for non- anesthesia purposes, when utilized with specific patients. This sparked his in-depth research of ketamine’s previously obscure properties, and its remarkable potential in treating patients suffering from mental health, chronic pain, and addiction struggles. Dr. Harris focused first on surgical patients presenting with unique mood, pain, and opioid dependency. Then, after perfecting these techniques at medical offices across southern California, Dr. Harris formed NeuroRelief™ Ketamine and Infusion Therapy in 2019 to bring these successful results to the entire patient population. This much needed service is now benefiting thousands of clients across the country, and patients have travelled to NeuroRelief™ Ketamine from 5 continents.

Dr. Harris has developed a unique treatment process that is not available in any other program, worldwide.  do not permanently solve the conditions he treats.  He believes that ketamine infusion therapy is an incredible tool and opportunity, if properly purposed and directed, for building new neurologic and psychologic patterns, and relieving unprocessed emotional burden.  However, he knew logically and scientifically that in order for ketamine infusion therapy to have long-landing benefit, each unique patient to actually "build new roads", for themselves, with this opportunity. The NeuroRelief™ Team trains, guides, and supports each patient differently in actually "doing differently" for themselves.  By pairing the neuropsychologic shift of optimally delivered ketamine infusion therapy with a customized, guided mindfulness meditation and mindful CBT exercise program, supported by Dr. Harris, they start giving their returning neurologic workforce new directions.  And the workers build accordingly!  Additionally, every client is working with their own private Certified Integration & Recovery Coach, over zoom, between their infusion days.  This is not psychotherapy, but rather a practical process of therapeutic coaching that allows each client, using techniques such as applied mindfulness, Somatosensory Experiencing modality, or IFS/parts work, to be guided in engaging their awareness in different patterns. This modality of support is also invaluable to assist patients processing and investing the emotional takeaways from their ketamine experiences.

Every client at NeuroRelief™  is independently assessed by combining objective tools with detailed phone and in person consultations (and even their loved ones). Dr. Harris takes a unique approach with his clients, rarely seen in today’s volume-driven medical approach. He believes in a “one-size-fits-one” approach to care. Dr. Harris is personally involved in every single treatment session, with every single client. His dedication, and that of his team, creates a very valuable relationship with each of our family of clients. This allows a high degree of customization to ensure that each patient receives the perfect dosing regimen and experience, in addition to him being the leader of each patient’s entire, integrated and multi-modal treatment journey.  Every patient receives his direct cell phone number for real-time guidance and support throughout their programs, and beyond. He believes strongly in the Integrative and holistic approach of mind and body, approaching each client as a whole person, not a diagnosis, and creating a personalized care-plan geared specifically to them. This is what NeuroRelief™ is all about! Dr. Harris often states that “Our highest priority is outcomes, and this requires personized care and customization of approach, for every patient”. This careful attention to detail, by Dr. Harris and his entire care team, achieves maximal benefit and success for each individual client.
