Dr. Avgi Saketopoulou, PhD

Given the wide range of reviews from highly positive to negative, it's evident Dr. Saketopoulou isn't for everyone. I think it's important to bear this in consideration with seeing any therapist and reading about/getting someone else's experience with a given therapist. I've personally found Dr. Saketopoulou deeply respectful of my kinks and sadomasochistic lifestyle. She has never once judged me, but instead created a space in which I can explore and understand ancient parts of myself allowing for a fresh experience on life. It's unfortunate others here have had such negative experiences with Dr. Saketopoulou. I do hope they've found a psychoanalyst better suited to them as I have with Dr. Saketopoulou.

Dr. Saketopoulou is a wonderful therapist and psychoanalyst. She pushes you, which sometimes can be painful, but I have found fundamentally helped my life. She's very understanding on a wide range of issues and no part of my identity or my life felt like it was outside something she could help me with.

She was treating me so SADISTICALLY, a senior colleague of hers said I should go see someone else. Super sadistic and narcissistic! Torture!!!!!

Stinks and can’t keep boundaies

What a helpful and kind therapist! She's taken the time to throughly explain things that have been going on with me. Most of all, she can sit with me in my darkest of pain. Thank you! Thank you!

She's such a wonderful and warm therapist. For years I traveled from therapist to therapist without anyone being able to help me. They just judged me. Told me I was sick and immediately suggested I go for medication. Dr. Saketopoulou took the time to listen to me (I mean really listen to me) and made me feel like my problems were something worth thinking about and for the first time ever they felt manageable. Thank you.
